I make 100% roi on a 100k portfolio every year.

I'll bet in most cities there are established bail bonds dealers who have a monopoly (or first dibs) on this stuff. I don't think its an even playing field like selling puts in the stock market.

Einhorn fund down nearly 28% for first 11 months of 2018

9 billion AUM and down 28%. I am sure he will raise assets despite this next year. Institutional allocators are very patient with pedigreed money managers.

Anybody investing in GE corp bonds?

2023 maturity bonds yield close to 7%. It's very tempting. Wondering what you guys think about this? Do you think there's a default risk given it's a blue chip company more than 100 yrs old?

What % of your income/net worth goes into the trading account?

75% of my liquid net worth is my trading accounts being traded daily. Probably too high a percentage given I have a wife and kids. A blowup would be devastating. I will likely transition in the next year to 50% of LNW in trading and the other 50% in interest bearing instruments.

These numbers show Suze Orman is right about needing $5 million to retire

I think there are creative ways to generate about 8% yield through a portfolio of corporate bonds, muni bonds and the recently available crowdsourced PE investments. Spread out $1M across a diversified mix of such investments and one could survive off the income.

A spike in 10-year Treasury yields could trigger a financial crisis to rival the Great Depression

Currently the government pays about $300 billion per year in interest on debt. Heaven help us if there is a rate spike. It won't be a case of hyperinflation or stagflation - it will be an all out default/insolvency situation.

Botched Cook County Property Tax Relief Backfires On Working Class, Minorities

Seems the Northeast tax+spend disease is starting to spread across the country. Slowly but inevitably across the country property taxes and state income tax will get to a level where the economic activity slows to a dim flicker. Plainly put, because of the loss of the SALT deductions, people...

Has anyone use Traders Accounting in Arizona? Any suggestion for a good accounting firm?

I've used Green Trader and Paul Mann, both are fine. But now I use another one. The main issue for me is whether these guys can finish the returns in time without having to file an extension. Extensions suck big time and can lead to a domino effect with other filings. Prior to using any of these...
