    My IRA performance for 2019

From one of your earlier threads I seem to recall you are a PM at a hedge fund? Are you certain that is not going against SEC regs by telegraphing your personal trades in a public internet forum?

An Indian Company Announced 63,000 Job Openings... 19 Million People Applied

Welcome to the future of this planet. As each year passes I notice some store, some restaurant, some function at the airport check-in process, some doctor's office have one or more employees replaced by an automated machine or a web based procedure. And it seems to be happening with alarming...

Apple admits repair business hurts their bottom line

Therefore they use shitty tactics like intentionally slowing down older devices and forcing obsolescence. Never had any of these issues on my 5 year old Samsung with automatic updates all the way through. Lightweight/clean/open-source versus bloated/clunky/proprietary. 20 years from now Apple...

$25 million is the new number nowadays?

My brother in law just sold his firm for $25m. Not sure what the multiple was though as I did not ask him his EBITDA. Is 10X pretty standard with software companies? What if I invented a software widget that earned $100k net for me each year? Would somebody buy my company for $1M??

The exodus of New York City’s endangered middle class

I find NY Post reflects the true angst of the common person. Unlike NY Times which is pretty much for the liberal elites who have no footing in reality.

The exodus of New York City’s endangered middle class

self employed person here living in a NYC suburb. I have been debating for years whether I should move out. I can do what I do from anywhere. I could be saving a boatload of money every year if I moved to a state with more sane property/income/sales taxes. I suspect a lot of people in my...

    Trading the incoming recession

Good going. Would you share the nature of the small biz you started? And what kind of consulting do you do?

How many strategies do you trade?

no I don't do that. I just treat each account as an individual silo and money is not transferred back and forth. Wouldn't be easy anyway since accounts are spread across several different brokers/custodians. But I know what you mean - if I dynamically moved unused cash between strats it would...

How many strategies do you trade?

Its not as bad as it sounds. Each system has at most one trigger per day and I trade the systems in predefined 'windows' during the day. Also some of them are once a week and once a month systems.

How many strategies do you trade?

It is manual but systematic. In other words I have real time data feeds coming into my calculations and I execute manually when the signals get triggered.

    Hedge Fund Dream Job

In the early years, the high fees and high incomes in the HF industry were a product of market beating abilities, usually with pretty simplistic techniques. Risk taking was encouraged and rewarded with 20% or 30% incentive fees. These days that magic is long gone and HF industry on average is...
