Is intervention risk a meaningful consideration for a long-term trade involving Swissie or Yen?

Stop being mean to GRULSTMRNN. He will pout and leave the thread! :D I don't relish being short those and getting debited a not insignificant swap rate. Plus some of those exotics experience a CHF style dislocation more often than I like.

Is intervention risk a meaningful consideration for a long-term trade involving Swissie or Yen?

Spot FX. I just pay negative carry if I happen to be positioned as such. But I avoid trading the high carry stuff like TRY, MXN, ZAR long or short.

Is intervention risk a meaningful consideration for a long-term trade involving Swissie or Yen?

I have a lot of long term positions in various fx crosses, including JPY,CHF. If you carefully size your net exposures and diversify then you should be able to survive central bank interventions. I use the 2015 CHF dislocation as a stress test.

Micro E-mini Madness (2% per day)

I am an early adopter of the EMicros. Began trading all 4 contracts few weeks ago. Gotta say I love the ability to scale in/out and the fine tuned exposure scaling is awesome.

GE Is A Massive Bankruptcy, It's Bonds Are Up ?

GE corp bonds yielding around 4.5% to 5%. Hardly seems worth the risk. Investors are desperate for any kind of yield at all these days.

Managing gap-down risks during earnings season for stocks

That is a strategy I have been meaning to backtest and implement in my own trading if it looks good. What was your holding period for these credit spread trades? And how far out of the money were your 2 strikes?

    Greece's Brain Drain

I am seeing this pattern across Europe, latest similar example being Poland. I guess if there is mobility without border restrictions then people will move out - analogous to a young professional moving out of West Virginia to Charlotte in search of employment.

Tell me why I can't grow my account to $1M in 12 years

I see. I was thinking more of the broker's adage: "only risk your money that you don't immediately need"

Profound. Goes against the conventional thinking.

Not sure if this is a troll thread or an inside joke but I will post anyway. Among the people that I know or know of, the biggest net worths do not belong to the smartest individuals. The biggest net worths belong to those that dumbly bought and held income generating assets over a long time...

The Legend of David E. Shaw: Hiding in Plain Sight

Their flagship fund from inception (2001) to now has produced annualized net return of just over 10%. And they are managing $50 Billion. One must assume they have an astronomical Sharpe ratio because the returns alone do not justify that AUM. Does anybody have access to their Sharpe?
