Americans DROWNING IN DEBT! Pensions and 401k’s Will Be Devastated in Crisis!

Nah veganism can be dirt cheap if you do it right. Just avoid the hipster vegan restaurants and Whole Foods 'organic' fixation. For example I just had my dinner which consisted of rice, beans and cauliflower. The heap of food on my plate probably cost me about 20 cents.

Americans DROWNING IN DEBT! Pensions and 401k’s Will Be Devastated in Crisis!

As I approach my retirement in about 18 years I expect (and hope) my net worth will continue growing. But between now and retirement day a number of things could easily happen that may adversely affect that plan. Out of control health care costs + living costs, my business revenue slowing down...

The Master of Robots Left AQR. Now He’s Coming for Wall Street

If he was that great. Why would he be peddling his stuff to institutions? Sounds like a hyped up academic relying on pedigree. Bet he's not even close to the same league as Jim Simons.

It Dominates Everything It Touches. ButCan Amazon Compete With . . . Walmart?

Not so sure if Amazon is a winner in everything it enters. In my estimation its Whole Foods acquisition is currently a bit of a dud.

Executing order at a 'specific time'...

ThinkOrSwim can do time specific orders. Added benefit is ThinkOrSwim is now commission free. IBKR Pro (where you can do time specific orders) charges 1/2 a cent per share.

    Narrowest spread instruments for trading

Thought I saw 1 tick bid ask spread on MES and other micros most of the day. Looks very liquid to me...

This 18-year-old launched a hedge fund from his bedroom in suburban New Jersey

Just news hype. But I do wish my children will be as focused as this kid when they are older.

...and E*Trade zeroes out the commissions as well

Pretty sure that's the case no idea. But they have a nice scripting language within the platform.

    Trading Opening Auction at ThinkOrSwim?

At IB for equities I can use the order type MKT/OPG to get the opening auction price. On the ThinkOrSwim platform all I see is ability to do a Market order, there is no 'Opening' selection. Question: at ThinkOrSwim if you enter a Market order for a stock before the market opens, does it...

...and E*Trade zeroes out the commissions as well

not just ETFs. They state "Announcing $0 commissions on online stock, ETF and option trades**"

...and E*Trade zeroes out the commissions as well

Exactly. IBKR Pro is now the standout still charging commissions (how fast things changed in a week LOL). IBKR Pro claims that the commission is worth them not selling order flow and thus gives price improvement. The only way to substantiate the claim is to trade the same strategy for several...

TD Ameritrade joins race to the bottom on fees -- announces zero-commission trades to match Schwab

They're not dropping futures commissions. Its still $2.25 per side, even on the micros!

    Ameritrade follows Schwab. Eliminates commissions

I am speechless. A dizzying amount of upheaval in the brokerage industry in such a short time span. Never seen anything like these past few days in my almost 30 years of trading. Once can only imagine what is to follow with the smaller brokers. Bankruptcies, mergers/acquisitions. Interesting...

due to the Schwab announcement on fees perhaps?

Interesting. Wondering if entities are allowed to open a Lite account.

    Riding out the draw down

I find that active drawdown control does not work - rules like reduce exposure by x% for every y% drawn down. This is because depth and duration of drawdowns are noisy and not predictable. You will end up being fully exposed going down but low exposed going back up. What works for me is simply...

New York Stock Exchange owner launches futures contracts that pay out in bitcoin

Not going to gain traction. They've pretty much alienated retail traders with their ridiculously high data fees.

Billionaire investor on Elizabeth Warren as president: Market might not even open

The student loan forgiveness and free college plan would never pass as a bill and Warren knows it. Its just the progressive mantra du jour that has to be mentioned in every debate. However her plan to get rid of health insurance or significantly marginalize it is a sound plan. This type of...

Billionaire investor on Elizabeth Warren as president: Market might not even open

I'd take Warren over tired old Biden any day. Biden needs to retire - he's not running on any particular core principles and has no burning issues he wants to tackle. He seems to be in the candidacy just to keep the status quo going.
