Question regarding selling puts for premium

They're not more inherently dangerous than any other leveraged/margined instrument when used reasonably. Just because you lack self control doesn't mean the rest of the universe does. I don't think you understand options entirely. There's more to options than simply punting around steamroller...

PnL Measure ... Points or Dollars, which do you quote

Ticks but sometimes include the amount of contracts to make it more understandable on the size of a move. I try to work less with dollars because of the mindset problems it causes.

Reading order flow - institutional or retail

IMO big/smart money won't reveal their hand. It's almost never how it looks, even with a print. These days I categorize all outlier sizes as the same, spoof or not, as intentionally misleading or a trap.

Possible to get PDT designation permanently?

Or trade futures and don't bother with any of it plus Even More(tm) leverage. :-)

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

So delay the inevitable and put everything into pure hope that the economy will magically fix itself? Rates are like 5% of the actual problem and the current policy has not demonstrated any effective usefulness other than making a bunch of equity holders richer.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

The problem here is that the Fed is creating a deep hole in the process of doing this. They're basically pot committed and have nowhere to go at this point. It's giant fucking hack that obviously isn't working and the fact that it's been allowed to go on for almost 7 years straight is almost...

When is the right time to quit your job and trade full time?

If one is that consistent that it's month in month out the same thing the natural next step is to size up. 2k/month? How about try for 2k a DAY.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Closed some euro session NQ shorts for about 130 ticks, still have the ES shorts and VIX longs. We shall see; the market is 99% BS anyway.

Uh no, it was like mid 600s if I remember right.

UK vs US 5y5y with futures

Can personally attest to luckily avoiding being crushed by WTI/Brent mean-reversion spread trading. I had a 4 lot position that I halved which then eventually made my losses back and about 200 (aggregate) ticks profit. Even though I made money I probably shouldn't have gotten in the trade.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

I'm not adding anymore short positions until the general mood is "recovery" and "bullish." If the market shits itself between now and then then I'll probably end up stepping in early. IMO big money is or has been getting their sell orders filled.

McDonalds Responds To Minimum Wage Protests

Right, because there's no such thing as social inequality and everyone is born equal. News to surf, the good 'ole USA is *not* egalitarian. Marketsurfer says short shake shack

There's always a chance to add to the winner just like usual. If I'm dead wrong from the start I'd rather take a loss on 50-75% of the full size than 100%. We cannot be right all the time, and I feel it's a reasonable compromise. More often than not, things don't just take off.

    Marketsurfer says short shake shack

If I get on on a weak hand shake out then I use tight stops and size up then. I usually have to have a resting limit order for this ahead of time though. In the situations where I'm not setup already, I don't have the best read at the time but the read becomes better, or there's still a bit of...
