    Best Python Framework for IB

I just discovered (very happily) there are many Python frameworks for IB, which ones are best for back test and automated trading? A good framework IMO should be: 1. Open source is preferred. 2. A long development history. I don't want to learn a system that's abandoned soon. 3. Widely used...

That's very helpful, thanks a lot!

    TWS and back-test

Is it fair to say that TWS is not suitable for back testing and strategy development? I recently opened an account at TradeStation, it seems very easy to do back testing and develop trading strategies. But I don't like its charting, I lost sync with the market (if I had any with TWS), and I...

What's the cheapest R/T for Micro ES and NQ

I pay 0.94 per RT with IB. I'm addicted to MES too, it feels so relaxed.

    Traded MES Yesterday

Just made two trades, I rarely trade pre-market. With MES, I couldn't help for the fun. I think I felt the pulse of the market, both trades were opened and closed at perfect timing, I may fell in love with this thing.

    Traded MES Yesterday

You are absolutely right, no doubt I'm a bad trader, and MES reversed some of my efforts. Yesterday I should have taken advantage of MES' small leverage and ride the down trend. With ES, if the market has been down a lot, I would be afraid of sharp reversal and often stay out of the market.

    Traded MES Yesterday

With such a small leverage, it's going to change how I trade...mostly for the worse. I traded reversal yesterday, when it hit new lows, I added more contracts instead of cutting my loss. When ES dropped to 2807, I placed a sell order at 2820 and went to bed, usually there would be a...

    Can't place orders

I was trading es options, no need to specify RTH. It lasted 15 minutes, it would have been a winning trade, I would have finished my trading for today. Later I placed a less than ideal order, now I'm considering to cut my loss. I'm angry. :banghead:

    Future Options

They ARE expensive, Robinhood is free, Firstrade moved to free, that's the trend.

My volume is not enough to get personalized deals. Just wanted to know if there are any low cost brokers that work with any retail traders.

    Is trading really hard work?

You are absolutely right, probably what I meant to say is, after you find what works best for you, do you still have to work 10 hours a day?

    Is trading really hard work?

That's exactly right. The journey to consistent winning is very hard work, very painful and frustrating at the same time.

    Is trading really hard work?

Many gurus said that trading was very hard work, even the hardest work in the world. It sounds very convincing, it makes you feel guilty if you don't study the charts 12 hours a day. But on the other hand, it seems more important to find a setup that matches your personality and works for you...
