    Private equity buys POS Chrysler

I guess you don't understand the auto industry or what the possibilities are for Cerberus. Shut down some plants, reduce union workers, renegotiate contracts ... upper hand once the deal is consummated goes to Cerberus.

    My trading Career

Per your attachment you've lost on average over $33,000 per year for 5 years. That's pushing almost a $3K/month loss. Many "traders" I've observed over time seem to do much better in bull markets, in part I think because many (aspiring) traders are programmed that way due to "investing" over...

    Remain calm...

Maybe that's because many have already beat the S&P and we're only in May. I'm up 20% YTD. Last year was over 125%. If one is a buy & hold "investor" then that approach is fine. But I was under the impression that ET was actually a trading site.

IBKR opens @ 50 or so.

Seeing how I've been trading full time for 11+ years I know you can't short an IPO. But I'd recommend that you look at today's chart before making uninformed comments. Between 10:15 and 11:30 it moved up over $1. And a stock trading just under 5 million shares offers some great trading...

Wrong .. with an intra-day range of $2.25 it presents some good trading opportunities.

    The next multi-bagger...

Unfortunately Cramer came out in January with SVNT as one of his top 3 speculative picks in 2007 so that in part fueled the run above $15. It was ahead of itself at that time. Pullback was expected IMO. The Phase 3 should wrap up late summer or early fall, within the 6 months your original...

IBKR opens @ 50 or so.

LOL. Close was $31.30 ... far cry from $35. With all your posts today on IBKR I'd guess you bought a bit high today and may be underwater. All I'll say is when shares are shortable I'll be looking to short if it's still $30+.

Warning MB TRADING filled my limit order wrong plce

If I were him I think I'd do all 3 (JD, joint and beer) and then get this thread deleted before anyone else is able to read it.

Warning MB TRADING filled my limit order wrong plce

You entered a limit order for a short trade, correct? It executed at a HIGHER price than you specified ... that's price improvement. No different than wanting to go long a stock and getting executed BELOW your long entry price. That's what MBTX does .. searches for price improvement.

Warning MB TRADING filled my limit order wrong plce

They executed the trade at a BETTER price than you specified. How is that a problem? Rather than bitching you should be thankful for price improvement. However, if you screwed up the order type then that's 100% your problem and not theirs.

I replied to the guy asking in his post -- not you. And they do offer charts through 3rd parties.

    MBTrading Quote Server Frequent Disconnects

I can't believe some of you guys just make assumptions -- don't bother to do any research. Want charts? You can get them through Quotetracker w/ MB at no cost. And realize too that not everybody needs, or wants charts to trade. And commissions are 0.005 after the first 500 shares. And if...

    I just don't understand why...

A post 3 1/2 years ago suggesting the market is headed up isn't exactly that of a trader. Investing is a LOT different than trading. Traders trade, investors buy & hold.

IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

Your interpretation is different than mine. IB states "Customers without the security device will be limited to a maximum withdrawal of $100,000 per business day". The math is simple ... if you want to withdraw $500,000 then it could be done in 5 business days (without the security device)...

IB"security"...nearly cost me my job. awful

Actually you'd be smart to read (and comprehend) the posts before making such comments, as above. First, after 3 weeks he claims he's only received $100K. At $100K/day requested it could have been completed in a week. Second, requesting ones own money, isn't hand holding. Rather, it...

    Tax question

As a trader I make quarterly payments for both Federal and State taxes, as I believe one needs to do. At the end of 2006 I assume you knew you had $200K in short term gains. Didn't you withdraw any money from your trading account for any taxes in excess of what you'd paid in Q1, Q2 and Q3 of...
