Yeah post your trades, with as most of your thought process as you care to share. Focus on explaining your exit process because that is the hardest part of trading.

    Trader P/L 2008

Normally I post when I win and quit when I lose, so gonna start posting again with a bad day. No blotter, lost $42. Only trading 100 shares right now, learning stocks in a prop firm. Got chopped by all the bank news whipsaws today.

Nice work. Breaking even on a chop day like today is great. Never ever worry about missed trades. You are always going to miss something, just make sure that the trades you do take are high probablity and forget about the rest.

I'm not suggesting you change your strategy, just trade in the direction of the trend even if it is the same strategy. Think of it as trading with the wind at your back. Especially today, when you are in do or die time, it is best to take only the highest probability trades. Look...

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

You can get just as instant of fills in stocks, just gotta know how to route the orders. The PDT rule is why I suggest getting with a prop firm that trains you. You usually need a series 7 license, but it might give you the best option of making it as a trader on limited capital. Since...

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

Not to beat a dead horse but if you are wanting to scalp once again you should check out stocks. It is a lot easier to cross the market in stocks, you pay less in commision and you can learn on much smaller size. All the successful traders I have ever talked to have said they don't know a...

you are young enough, take a long term plan on this. Save up some money and do some research and get with a firm that can train you. you could be making a living by the time you are 21 if you are dilligent about it.

Good luck tomorrow. Take that money, buy some books, study, and come up with more of a long term plan to get into trading. And seriously consider stock trading next time around, do some research in all the posibilities. Futures isn't necessarily the best way to get going.

Nice job, however that means you are targeting about 2 pts. That is about the same as your stop losses. You might be able to make that work with a very high win %, but if you can find some way to tweak that to 2x your risk, you will have better chances, especially with the high cost of spread...

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

If you are fading support and resistance you might want to wait for price to be rejected. If I am understanding you correctly that first trade you went short against the market, which was definitely against the current trend. More importantly, what are your proft targets?

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

Hey why don't you go ahead and post some of your strategy, especially stops and targets and maybe you can get some better pointers. Here is one right off the bat. Watch the ES and the YM as well, and be more active when all three are moving together. If they aren't moving together be very...

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

Sorry you had a rough first day. Don't want to say I told you so, but this is what I mean. You have no idea what if feels like to really trade, and are going to make all the stupid mistakes that everyone does when they first start out. 2k is not enough. Look at this it is day 1 and you are...

6 ticks is 1.5% of his account. If he has some losers in a row that will quickly get up too high. Also he probably won't have perfect discipline, because almost nobody does. He basically has no room for error and that is a hard spot to be in.
