    The $0.10 is only charged if the position is held overnight. For daytraders it is 7610/2000 = ~3.80 USD.

    You can short stock, bonds, futures, calls, puts and whatever else trades. Your "hedge" makes no sense because long and short the same stock means you have zero position in the stock and no hedge at all. Naked shorting of calls and puts is very risky for people who don't know what they are...

    The QuoteTracker directions for using with IB datafeed are at http://www.quotetracker.com/help/ib.shtml . Be careful with the number of spaces when entering symbols for eCBOT contracts.

    If you violate margin by $1 you get a margin call. You close the position, take the loss and since you now have less money in the account just trade smaller size. If you use a broker like IB you don't get a margin call as they just close out enough contracts to bring you back into margin...

    Evan Dooley had no problem trading wheat at MF Global without enough margin. If your broker doesn't have proper risk controls you can do what you want until they shut you down.

    Nonsense. Go to the IB website and read about the futures contracts they offer for trading. IB has had ER2 trading available on ICE for many months. Just subscribe to ICE/NYBOT data for the data feed.
