    IB basket orders

Can anyone spell out in simple instructions how to place a basket order from Excel? What we did so far was placed the underlying symbol in the left column, the desired exchange, then the description (e.g. QQQQ JAN08 49.0 CALL OPTION). We saved it as a CSV file. We went to the page on TWS for...

    Thank you to TOS

I would just like to express my satisfaction with Thinkorswim's customer service. They take responsibility in situations that the responsibility could have gone either way (e.g. in trigger orders), and I have seen already 2-3 times how they have done that without hesitation. IMO, this allows...

    S&P has topped for 2006

Do you post all of your S&P trades on ET? It would be nice to see the track record of you and Reardon Metal on trades when you are in concurrence, e.g. if done over 6 months or a year.

Do you offer a trading system, e.g. on Collective2?

    Thank you for adding this.

    Thank you IB

Perhaps you have now revealed the biggest trading secret for the incompetent, i.e. making every buy a sell, and every sell a buy, assuming they would otherwise make the wrong trading decisions 70% of the time. :D Actually, they also lose money for other reasons.

    Thank you IB

Instead of pressing sell, to close out a position of 2400 shares $1 above market, I accidentally pressed buy. It was after market, and had the order gone through I would have thrown away about $1k I believe. Instead, there was a popup that asked me if I really want to submit that order. I have...

Hedging: Stock long & QQQQ short.

Great upside, and underwent a 7% correction today.

Hedging: Stock long & QQQQ short.

Why haven't I heard this one before, as it seems quite obvious: If you believe a particular stock is a special prospect for long, but the overall market has much downside risk, not to stay away from the market, rather buy the stock long and short and index or ETF like QQQQ?

Got ya. Well that sometimes speaks to me.

Impact on stock price of your trade

IMO, retail traders have more of an impact because: 1) Your orders get matched. OR: 2) They try to make the trade play against you. Also, after a stock has taken a big intraday dip, sometimes it's just a question "who will start" and then the stock begins a recovery.

Why do you think they are worse than NYSE?

I speak English, not Greek; maybe you can clarify yourself.

Impact on stock price of your trade

Here's my thoughts: Sometimes it seems things go according to the normal supply & demand rules, i.e. as you buy up stock, the stock goes up in price. Other times, as you buy up stock, the stock price caves in on you, which seemingly is designed to squeeze out the retail day trader or newbie...

    Hatred of the NYSE

It seems each stock has its own nuance. Some of them turn on you the moment you buy more than just a few shares, some of them don't.

IB: selecting penny option or natural bid/ask quotes

Below is the reply of IB. If I understand correctly, it means one is not able to see natural bids AT ALL? Here it is... Hello, hope all is well. Regarding your inquiry below. There is a hide penny option price, but that will not show the natural bid and offer. That is only to hid...

    Penny options with IB: Results?

Are you talking also that the order went through? With IB, though, you'll likely never get an option fill that's worse than the NBBO, so any mistake has limited impact. Yet spread between bid and ask can still be horrendous.

    Penny options with IB: Results?

If you really know what Bitstream is saying, and you get the evidence together maybe then you should take this further. Perhaps by starting a new thread with the appropriate title will attract people who can give additional input.
