    unusual intermarket spreads

A technical strategiest from Refco was talking about the Aussie dollar versus gold and versus the S&P on Thursday. Since Australia is a gold and commodity exporter, I can see the gold connection, but the S&P connection had something to do with the dollar and probably could be seen in any...

    Internet News Feeds

My homepage is finance.yahoo.com -- I read it first thing in the morning, every morning. I also recommend thestreet.com, cbs.marketwatch.com, and bloomberg.com. If you have a broadband connection you can even watch Bloomberg TV through Bloomberg.com -- click on the "TV" button. What do...

    Trading Library

I do a lot of interlibrary loan requests myself, Wally. How successful are yours? If I'm asking for some newish, rather technical trading book it seems only about 50% chance they can get it and it usually takes several weeks to find out if they are successful or not. What has your experience...

    Trading competition - Italy

*laugh* This reminds me of the interview I had years ago for a strategy developer position for a hedge fund. To test my market knowledge the interviewer asked me what my 10 best strategy ideas were. The first thing that went through my head was that it sounded like a way to harvest strategy...

    The Ultimate Futures Trading Camp...???

I don't understand what the downside of making an accurate track record available is. Why would Jason have been advised against it? If it was a lousy track record, I would think the downside would be in not making it public: "I paid him to teach me how to trade profitably and he committed...

Dear Mr. Schindler, Thank you for your interest in our products. Let me try and clear up the confusion: Strategy Runner has a few products. The main ones are: 1. Strategy Runner - a trading platform for automated, hands-free trading system execution and for manual order execution. Strategy...

    FFASTFILL Lower than IB??

I don't think you are understanding order execution correctly... If LarryBF is putting in a market order as soon as the news item comes out, he will be immediately executed at the best possible price. Market orders are immediately executed -- no queue. For limit orders, you will be put into...

    Strategy Runner

I read the review of Strategy Runner in the latest Stocks & Commodities magazine and went to their website, but I'm confused about the product. Does anyone here use it? How do you use it and how do you like it?

    401(k) plan for funds

P2, where are you getting the earned income to put into a qualified retirement plan? I have no earned income because all the trading profits are capital gains. While it is nice to not have to pay self employment tax, it also means no IRA contribution.

That's a nice looking recipe! I like healthy, lowfat, easy meails. I'm going to try it. I'm assuming you drain the kidney beans? Also, I think I'll put in the whole potato. What am I supposed to do with half a potato left over?!

    care to comment anybody?

Anybody can sue you for any thing at any time. I'm not saying they'll be successful, but there's no restriction against filing a lawsuit naming you personally, as well as the management company LLC. An LLC makes your personal assets a little safer and harder to get to, but it is no guarantee.

What good do daytraders do to society?

Professor Wade Brorsen of Oklahoma State University hypothesizes that traders earn a return and provide a service to market users by speeding up price changes. He says human beings, due to our psychological "anchoring" tendencies, tend to be slow to adjust to new market clearing prices...

    ZF ace tick data

Using open outcry data is fine for backtesting a/c/e contracts, except for the a/c/e hours are longer than the open ourcry hours. If your strategy trades or uses overnight prices, then the open outcry data isn't going to work. During the day, though, the two prices march in lock step.

    401(k) plan for funds

It's hard enough to find an IRA custodian who'll hold small private placements. The single person 401k is such a new creation that the few administrators out there are probably all sticking with mainstream asset classes. Please let me know if you are successful, though.
