    Greed

It's the same old song & dance for a few decades now, only now it has sharply accelerated. The big corporations control government - there policies squeezed $ from main street into the hands of the richest. Fed Powell in his 60 mins interview was asked about his policies in light of the huge...

    Could it be this easy?

Dogs of he DOW.. really? Momo trading you can beat 25 years of the dogs of the Dow on one good trade. #1 look for stocks in a clear uptrend, preferable near their highs for longs, reverse for shorts #2 filter the list down to stocks in the most constricting formations - 4-26 weeks is ideal...

    Trading Psychology

Trading psychology is at least 70% of it, knowing how to make money in the market is the easy part - actually having the mind set to do is a rare trait that not many have because out hard wired human nature makes us lousy traders. Sure you need an edge, which does not imply a high win rate - it...

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

So our weak/fragile economy that relies on massively rising debt & keeping interest rates over 5,000 years of human history may unwind in a tragic way. The ignorant Fed just now figured out what is obvious to anyone with a clue.

Why may is historically down time for stocks?

May... may not be so bad after all.

What stocks do best in inflationary environment?

The better inflation stocks have soared several fold since the Fed went more insane than usual & printed to infinity last spring.

50% smaller returns missing the top 10 best days in the market from 1999-2019

Very good point. Over the long run the size of the losers has more impact on your performance then the size of your winners. The mantra of many great traders "take care of your losses & the profits will take care of themselves".

can price action predict market moves

Many traders can not even predict what they will do next, this counts a lot more than knowing what the market will do next.

    Yet another risk to consider...

Traders with a lot of cash on the line trading shorter time frames should be using a multi-Wan router which allows you to use multiple ISP's at the same time, including cell like 4G LTE. This gives you load balancing so that are using all available BW. You can also setup custom link routing...

How much to add to a loser?

Wrote down a quote from Elon Musk the other day since it relates to the psychology of trading. This is why managing winners produces better results - your human nature is not working against you like it is dealing with mounting loses. When under stress our primitive Lymbic system hijacks our...

How much to add to a loser?

I would stay away from avging into losers unless your trade was planned with a smaller starter of your position & your using a hard loss exit you will be sure to honor every time. Even than it's the Heroin in trading. Averaging down plays into our hard wired loss aversion, this makes us want...

can price action predict market moves

Agreed you need an edge. To me that is a defined/disciplined method for interacting with the market. Edges can be fickle & fleeting, subject to variance. An edge will only be as good as the sum parts of risk/trade mgmt & mind set, etc. Having a lot of experience & good instincts can sure...

can price action predict market moves

Win rates mean virtually nothing, what matters is the sum of winners being larger the sum of losers (profit factor). MAE(max adverse excursion) is a much more important metric, it's an early warning your heading down a slippery slope. Over the years I have seen most traders fixated on high...

Another Mass Shooting: Indiana, Indianapolis FEDEX Facility

Not rocket science - the states with the highest gun ownership per capita also have the highest gun related deaths. Obviously mental illness factors in big time, mix it with easy gun access & you have a perfect storm. Sure does not help that the GOP opposes universal background checks when 97%...

More people lost money waiting for correction

Zimbabwe fired up their printing press, lifting their stock mkt over 1,000% gain over the last year. Even poor countries can print their way into a bubble.

The mkt runs in anticipation of better times and also runs during good times.

What does Zimbabwe produce? What do they export? What do they import? That's part of the GDP calculation, yes? https://oec.world/en/profile/country/zwe/

The mkt runs in anticipation of better times and also runs during good times.

The market goes higher when the Fed prints more $ than it did it over the last 7 recessions going back to the late 70's. Zimbabwe has been printing money like the good old days - point being all you need is to print money to jack up the market History has not been kind to the big printers of debt.

    VIX Volatility Adventures: UVXY revisited

Looking at shorting via UVXY provided there is some validation the SPY appears to be turning. Red flags: herd is all in & leveraged to the teeth. The easier short appears to be on the RTY/IWM since it's below resistance & well below it's highs. The R:R on the UVXY has gotten my full attention.
