Any public historical dataset for stock loan fee rates?

And sadly SSFs have almost no liquidity.

Any public historical dataset for stock loan fee rates?

AQS doesn't give historical data. I'd love to find a source of this data myself. If the stock has traded options you can back into the no arbitrage put call parity equation to figure it out, but that's pretty cumbersome if you're doing it for more than one or two stocks.

TD Ameritrade/TOS closing down in Asia. Any ideas why?

I don't think "ban" is the word you're looking for. The link you provided indicates that TOS doesn't accept forex customers from Ohio and Arizona, not that forex trading is in any way banned in those states. Most probably there is a compliance or registration requirement in those states that...

TD Ameritrade/TOS closing down in Asia. Any ideas why?

A state generally can't regulate something involving interstate commerce that is already federally regulated. You won't find any examples of a state banning interstate tulip trading if federal law allows it, for example.

"Wealthy Millennial" still get financial support from mommy and daddy...

Again with the assumption that millennials are idiots. You know one other thing I've found working around millennials is that they're a lot less judgemental than the grumpy old men, and thus much more pleasant to be around. I'd also say they stereotype less, but that would be a stereotype...

VIX is close to being undervalued: Cheap way to play it

Again I think you're talking about what goes on inside TVIX and we're talking about the quoted price of the security, we're probably in violent agreement overall. No offense taken on the models, I've spend a ton of time nestled up with TVIX and the other VIX ETFs and Excel and agree with your...

VIX is close to being undervalued: Cheap way to play it

We're talking about a stock here. Ticker symbol TVIX. If you went to your broker in October and had them buy $1049 of TVIX, then did nothing, your position in TVIX today will be worth $3.26. End of story. Same as if you bought AAPL or any other stock that experienced splits or dividends during...

"Wealthy Millennial" still get financial support from mommy and daddy...

Without knowing how those numbers compare to the children of wealthy parents in the past this is a meaningless "kids these days" rant. I bet the article author walked 10 miles to school when they were kids, in the snow, uphill both ways. Classic idiot quote from the article, "Only 29% of...

VIX is close to being undervalued: Cheap way to play it

That's either a fundamental misunderstanding of the concept of reverse stock splits or more probably you're looking at this ETF differently than the stock it is. If you're talking about the underlying index, the no, it hasn't ever been that high. But the ETF has indeed lost that much value and...

How does IB define "market value" of extremely illiquid options for margin call purposes?

I've had them autosell a spread on me using 2. It was especially galling because the max loss on the 5 point spread was 5 points and I had plenty to cover that, but because they were using the ridiculous ask they computed it as if I could lose 7 points on a 5 point spread. All attempts to...

    Distressed Debt Investing

Plus I think you indicated earlier these are all relatively small positions vs your overall portfolio and most of us allot a small portion of our portfolio to speculative plays. I think it's a cool way to learn about distressed debt and am enjoying your updates.

How do you trade long term options?

I've found that math lends itself very well to publishing. And that options involve a great deal of math beyond compulsory education arithmetic. And that there are dozens of very good books on options basics, at least one of which you can probably check out for free from a local library...

How Does Liquidity Affects Options Return

You can also look at the mid of the surrounding options and use their IV to back into the correct mid for your option if a stubborn limit order on one or both sides is blocking the true mid of your specific option. If you're doing spreads you can also look at the opposite option for the same...

Am I being ripped off by my broker?

The OP stated this alleged malfeasance was going on with ES options. ES options are traded on CME and only on CME, there are no "bucket shops" making up their own prices for ES options. The OP also seems to think that GAIN is manipulating the worldwide price of ES options, which is just...

Am I being ripped off by my broker?

As I've said time and time again, if you are truly getting false quotes then you've just received a gift from your broker. Simply put on a small trade in the same direction as the one you want, wait for them to shade the quote to show it as a loss, then put in your full order at the lower...

Is the stock market a zero-sum game?

The market is decidedly not zero sum. However some market activities, like buying and selling options and futures are since one party has to lose exactly as much as the other party wins. I'd push back pretty hard on the "market is a ponzi scheme" idea. Google didn't exist 20 years...

You are aware you're on a trading site aren't you? Where we all at least aim to make money off trading on wall street, apparently making us this "elite" you're railing against?
