    performance history, net of fees

Uh, you misread what I wrote.... you subtract your fees on monthly basis. Ie, claim 20% every month. It's just not crystallized and removed into your GP account until end of quarter.

any idea how/where to get deal on bloomberg terminal

Mobile app locks you out of the desktop, and vice versa. Can't use both simultaneously.

    performance history, net of fees

Third is correct, although not sure about your math. You seem to have some extra decimals hanging off the end. Your incentive allocation shows up as a fee each month (or reversal of fee in down month). Final amount is crystallized quarterly. What always confused me (until my admin set me...

    CME Globex moment of silence

Fwiw, I shut down my code (or more accurately, programmed it not to trade those 4 min). Not because of sentiment or fear of being called scumbag, but because I wanted to avoid market instability. I have no problems paying respect to the memories of those lost on 9/11. But turning off...

    CME Globex moment of silence

Okay, didn't realize it had been done before. I'll assume the sky isn't likely to fall, then.

    CME Globex moment of silence

Their previous announcement just said NYMEX/COMEX products... and now its *all* CME Group products? Again, what the heck is going to happen when the cash stock + index future markets diverge dramatically during that one minute? Am I over-thinking this?

    CME Globex moment of silence

Yea, I'm a little confused by this. I have an automated trading system... am I supposed to actually halt the programs? Now I feel like I should, in fear that the ask/bid spread will blow out into insane ranges. It's one thing if they just halt Globex, I'd be fine with that. But asking for...

What's the best company for wireless internet?

I use Clear. It's wonderful in more urban areas where you have a clean 4G signal. Fast, reliable, etc. Unfortunately, in my suburban home... it frankly sucks. Signal goes in and out. Their software shows acceptable signal quality (3 out of 5 bars), but that doesn't keep it from dropping...

    CTA capacity constraints

Just off the top of my head, Winton has $20 bil+, BlueTrend has $10 bil+. Man AHL probably has $30 billion. Clearly capacity eventually becomes an issue. The exact point depends on strategy. For a trend follower, no way is 1 bil or 2 bil "very big".

    CTA capacity constraints

There are numerous CTA programs which run into the billions. The NewEdge CTA index has 20 programs, currently open to the public and willing to participate, with a minimum AUM of $900 mm. There are also many others up to the tens of billions in size. You didn't tell us much about the...

    Options on Commodities Floor Traders

Non-serial months are traded on the screen, but you'll still get better fills on the floor.

    Options on Commodities Floor Traders

Yea, I'm very upset about this actually. Wish I had a direct route to market makers able to make me a tight (< 10 cent) spread on brent options. But just to be clear: there is no physical floor trading for these ICE energy products, correct?

    Options on Commodities Floor Traders

Anything that has volume is liquid. WTI CL has anywhere from a 3-6 cent spread depending how volatile the underlying is, and you can get filled 50-100 lots without a problem. NG has a very tight spread almost always, and you'll never get filled except at th bid/offer. HO has a ridiculously...

Would It Be Rude To Ask If I Can Shadow A Day Trader?

Never rude to ask, only rude to get upset if they say no.

    BAC 8.0 straddle for 0.26

BAC traded to a low of 7.55 post-close. My Bloomberg shows 1600 shares traded at 7.7592 at 16:26:09 on 8/26.

What trading career would be best from these 3 options?

None. (By the way, it has to be options trading... because really nothing else is traded in the pits these days. Just about any underlying, regardless of order size, is already traded electronically.)

What trading career would be best from these 3 options?

I'd definitely go after the Chopper job with some heat. If there's some time pressure on the first two options, you should (politely and professionally) let Chopper know. Ask if they can expedite their decision making with your interview and hiring process. Between the two offers in...

    iPhone TWS down after hurricane?

Hi, Anyone else having problems with their iTWS app after Irene passed thru? I have confirmed tws on my pc works fine, it's just the mobile version that's down. I can log in and see portfolio, just not quotes.

    BAC 8.0 straddle for 0.26

Grab a 5 or 10 cent profit? Limit buy at 7.64, limit sell at 8.36. Price touches that and you've locked in your profit.

What does x% implied volatility mean?

Implied volatility is how "much" the market expects the underlying to move over some time frame, expressed in annualized terms. The assumption here is that the underlying's value X days from now is normally distributed, with the implied volatility being the standard deviation of that...
