Thank you all so much for the help here, a lot of great advice from some great people Beachbum and Xela where basically bang on with what I was asking after wording it differently thank you for that, still learnt a lot from a lot of others here as well, I'll finish reading the book I have now...

so If I find futures and trend following interesting (also the easiest to understand at the moment) then basically I form this into a strategy and ignore everything else? This probably sounds dumb but it sounds to easy haha

That is something that I've wanted to learn, Jigsaw had me very interested but reading DOM is something I want to get firstly, Thing is I feel I don't have enough knowledge to build a plan or strategy effectively, hence reaching out. I appreciate your feedback though

Basically, the way I see it is complexity like is literally every single bit of your trade strategy in there, like when to enter, how to manage it, when to exit is it more just like some broader things and you handle the rest based on 'feel' for example, sort of wanted this to be broad to see...

Also I'm not asking for anyones trading strategy because I agree with qxr1011 everyone will trade differently you need to find your way, but also because well I don't think anyone will just have that out hahaha

To make it a bit clearer, if you have a trading strategy, how much of your trading does it dictate, what do you let it control what do you control, what have you included etc. Also, I love the Indiana Jones nod

I think then if that was the way to do it I've gone two steps ahead... oh well. while that would be helpful what I need first is help in the development of that strategy and how also a question just wondering how other people use a strategy

Depends on what you define as young I am 23, but I think what I think of as old would be different for other people. On the troll part definitely not just looking for direction
