G200 Quad Card versus two dual-head cards (part II)

Eric, this gives me hope. Is the card PCI or AGP and what kind of motherboard do you have? I have the Intel D850EMV2 for the Pentium 4 and I'm not sure if the G200 will fit properly. Also, any problems with heat issues? I read on another thread to be sure to get a card with the heat...

G200 Quad Card versus two dual-head cards (part II)

I've got Win2k Pro and a dual-head Vision Tek GeForce MX 440 Nvidia card. I have two monitors and would like to upgrade to four. On a previous thread I stated that I was going to try and get two dual-head cards, but the more I researched it I thought that it may be best to go with the G200...

    Quad-head Video Card buying help

Yes! I second that! Thank you indeed, Mr. Max401! I believe that I am now going to go with two dual-head cards instead of a quad. Is it the consensus of the posters here that it is better that both cards be from the same manufacturer to avoid conflicts? For example, my present card is...

    Quad-head Video Card buying help

Thanks AAA, will do. Hey, this is probably going to sound insane, but how do I know if my card is AGP or PCI? Reason I ask is that under my Display Settings, Advanced it shows me Display Adapter Information for my video card and states "Bus Type: AGP". HOWEVER, Under Device...

How to sell common stock certificates

My grandmother has hundreds of shares of common stock in PAPER form in her possession. The actual stock certificates (not sure if "certificates" is the right word or not). Now she wants to sell the stock but she doesn't have a broker. How can she redeem her stock? Does she have to get a...

    Quad-head Video Card buying help

AAA, I've got Win2K Pro. I'm seriously thinking about just installing another dual-head Nvidia GeForce 4 MX440 since quad heads are expensive new and you have to really trust people to get a used one for a reasonable price. A rep at CompUsa told me that if you have two dual-head cards by...

    Quad-head Video Card buying help

Looking for a Quad head ANALOG-capable video card. Running Win2K Pro. Appians seem really expensive. Anyone using the Matrox Quad Heads? Suggestions and places to buy online would be appreciated. Is having two dual-head cards a better alternative? It appears that ET'ers are split as...

    WIN2K SP4 Released

This gentleman's question was never fully answered. I would like to know as well: would SP4 be among our "automatic updates are ready to install" we receive periodically? Also, how do you "archive" your files? thanx

Windows 2000 PRO Hardware Memory Usage

Is there a way to find out how much RAM a particular hardware device is using? I have Win2K Pro and I'd like to know how much RAM is being dedicated to this new monitor I bought. Task Manager doesn't show this data, to my knowledge.

    Dual Monitor Problem, Please Help

It was a driver issue. The latest driver did not correct the problem - if anyone else has a similar problem, FYI I had to install a much older driver (2.7.2.0) to make it work. Vision Tek Tech Support is EXCELLENT! Thanks again for your comment.

PC - shutdown or leave running?

I'd imagine you could just turn off your modem and/or disconnect your router to prevent that.

    Dual Monitor Problem, Please Help

Both of my monitors are not listed. Under Display, Settings, it only lists my new LCD Monitor, not my old CRT. If I click the Advanced tab and click the Monitor tab, it again only lists my new LCD. The NVidia NView desktop utility does NOT have a DualView setting. There is a setting...

    Dual Monitor Problem, Please Help

I have a Vision-Tek NVidia GeForce4 MX440 Dual-Head analog card running on Windows 2000 Pro. I just received the 17" Samsung LCD I ordered (fabulous!), installed its drivers, and have hooked it up next to my 19" CRT. So there are two monitors running on a single dual-head card - shouldn't...

    LCD Monitor Buying Help Needed

Ended up getting a Samsung 172N - 17 incher, analog. It had good reviews and seemed fine for trading purposes. Also got a good deal - $100 off in rebates for a total of $379. I figure if the picture isn't good enough and I want to go digital, I can let my wife use it and I'll just get a...

Digital v.s. Analog LCDs and adding another dual-head card

First off, for trading purposes is it important to have digital LCDs rather than analog? It seems to be a matter of debate sometimes mentioned in other threads. Is there a definitive answer? Secondly, I currently have a dual head NVidia GeForce4 MX440 (analog) in a PCI slot. If I want to add...

    LCD Monitor Buying Help Needed

Hungry, The "N" models are analog-only, and cheaper than their digital cousins. The "T" models are dual input, both analog and digital. On the Samsung website you'll notice that they group the models into "LCD Analog" and "LCD Digital" sections. So the V, S, N, and B models are...
