    making money in futures

You're right, I shouldn't have used the word best but it's a good strategy. Trailing stop will lets you protect profit and ride profit at the same time. Stops based on new highs are what i'm referring to. Not percentage, etc. Price point sets new high, stop moves to bottom of...

    making money in futures

Patience and a fixed stop is the key. A trailing stop works best. You have to be able to handle some losses as well...it's all part of the game. What you need is to find a strategy for the market which works greater than half the time. It's as simple as that. I found one that worked...

Am I the only one getting laggy orders with this system?

Im new to strategy runner (switched over from PATS) and have been getting much laggier orders. What's the deal with this. PATS worked great. Other than that I love the software.

Do we have to go up everyday?

House of cards will fall sooner or later. IMO we need a rate hike to burst this bubble though. That's the only thing that's different this time around. Greenspan's hand is out of the money.

    Indices could pull back tomorrow

LOL! I was wondering why they always break through on the 4th try. ;) Yup, im prepared for either way. Just really think the market acted goofy today. Really expected it to hold a little better off that CPI data. Either way ill be scalpin as usual....

    BEER and Trading

haha funny I found this thread. I was thinkin about this as well. I usually get some awful jitters and I dont think 1 beer would hurt. Most of my trade is systematic anyways so I dont thin it'd hurt

    Indices could pull back tomorrow

Are you talking A/H or normal hours? I believe they can float them, but on higher volumes it's gonna be riskier to try and manipulate it and IMO not worth it. I know all about the Jim Cramer video, which is kinda the same idea.

    Indices could pull back tomorrow

Here we go. Another indication today. Lost all the earlier gains. Especially after the fundamentals were released. Still playing toward the down-side. Am curious to see what tomorrow brings. Could see another pull-back in the overseas tonight. Just flippin as usual though.

how big are your stops for YM and ES?

1:1.25 with ~80% winners. Use auto trailing stops. If I manually trail stops I can get more from the market, however I get trigger happy. On the right days i've had 100% winners. Lots of discipline needed for it though. BTW: For everyone, most dont need more than a 1.5 point stop...

    AMEX is crooked..

AMEX is a joke. It's a glorified OTC. With some of the least liquid stocks out there.

how big are your stops for YM and ES?

1:2 OCO usually. ( 1 point stop, 2-3 point limit sell) ........I then use a .25 trail for every .25 uptick. AKA once I have a 1 point profit, my stop will be at even. I scalp the ES. Depending upon the breakout I will adjust my sell point if needed.
