Excel - get external data, delimiter prob

Been crying a lot recently - Ha Ha :) ............I must be one of these "new men" and didn't know. This board could be better value than those pyscologists (spelling?)etc. or people like Van T. etc, etc..........."just needing someone to talk to, who will understand" :D I'll try these...

Excel - get external data, delimiter prob

That was generous of you..........and encouraging. I have been struggling for some time to find a method of RESTARTING a chart at a particular moment (min or second).....not provided by any charting vendor (that I could find.) I then would like to try looking at the data (Graph - bar...

    ".....Guider?" be my Guide?

Thanks bullmarket79 Yes that would explain why I can't find the thread..........or the poster. I had read up to page 12 (I think) and had not responded, even though I wanted to..........I have been a long term user of the old software (VSA) and was cautious about: "been seen to advertise...

    ".....Guider?" be my Guide?

I seem to have been careless and lost a thread! I was reading it on Saturday, but now can't find it........I was looking to read the words written by: Roy, about some software that used volume as the basis of analysis. Did anyone "cut and paste" his responses?....If you send it to me, I'll...

Excel - get external data, delimiter prob

Thanks Funster I got the earlier problem sorted out (i.e. having the web query data arranged in columns) I found the solution in: Data - "text to columns."..............however, when it refreshed after 1 min, it put the original data into cell A1 and did not update the correct columns...

Excel - get external data, delimiter prob

I can import data from this site : http://sc.sc8.finance.lycos.com:443/?User=demo&Pswd=demo&DataType=DATA&Symbol=%24indu&Interval=1 the data appears but not in the correct format i.e. columns are not dividing in the right place so it may be something to do with the delimiters (comma on the...

    ANY timeframe bar - help

nichoi........you're a star! maybe that is one way to solve the problem. I am not so sure about the meaning of "time templates option" but I get the gist of your drift and will investigate. do you mean that I could change the start time in eg. "settings" and have the chart start at 2.04 ET...

    ANY timeframe bar - help

Ta. does my explanation of the idea make sense? i.e. if I look at (e.g.) a 6min bar, the extreme may have taken place in the 4th min of that bar and that is the bar that I want to RESTART my chart from. I do not want the data of the first 3 mins. to be included in the bar.

    ANY timeframe bar - help

Thanks macal425 that is quite true.........I have used e-signal, which I liked. that is half the problem sorted..........the other half is that i am not given the option to RESTART the chart!! what do I mean?...simply this: If I look (for example) at a 1min bar and think it is a low...

    ANY timeframe bar - help

well then, perhaps it does not exist!! it can be done with excel..........but it's not much fun. At the exchange, all things are equal (apart from outrades) number of buyers equals sellers. The reason why markets move is (my opinion) because: of the imbalance of: HOLDERS - this is a very...

    ANY timeframe bar - help

I would like a chart that could display any timeframe MMmm does it exist? I wonder! all the vendors (software) have products that alter min. bars, 1min, 3,5, 33 etc. problem is: most timeframes leave the last bar of the day only half finished because when a new trading day starts, the...
