come on duders. Loving the price action here on /GC. Looks so juicy, things winding up nicely. Popcorn? check. 3d glasses? check.

I think marketsurfer is using the daily close on GLD etf as a signal to close his futures position.

Looking for a new computer, stumbled across this one

That's true. I've just had bad luck with OCZ products, that's all. My Intel 320's and 520's are going strong. YMMV.

This is a low risk area to try a short. Stop loss above the recent high that occurred in the past week. There is a technical reason for my call here. I'll leave it up to the reader to find it. il est très précis. edit: Please use the futures for determining the stop loss level, not...

Looking for a new computer, stumbled across this one

I would recommend sticking with the Intel series. 520's are nice. Good performance and reliable. I never had good luck with OCZ products.

Who gives a flying frell whether someone made a prediction, good or bad? Trading is about managing risk and if you were stupid enough to martingale beyond your risk controls into a loser, that's your own problem to work out. This is just my view, but in that case if I were bearish, I'd...

I wouldn't mind trying short at or near a retest of 1540. But not randomly.. The other idea I have for the short theory (if we are in fact super bearish) is to just sit on my hands and wait for an obvious entry somewhere between now and 1540, just in case it doesn't make it up there. Bull...

    ES Journal - 2013

I am 100% discretionary at this point. I would like to automate as much of what I do as possible. This is not trivial and I would need to allocate large portions of my time to make this a practical reality. What I mean is: since futures trade overnight, they carve out very different chart...

    ES Journal - 2013

Well, I do not have detailed examples, sorry. I'll leave the research up to the reader. One might have a clear signal at a certain point earlier than the other in terms of what is 'more correct' (i.e. price improvement earlier in a yet-undeveloped movement), and yes, sometimes there is...

    ES Journal - 2013

Ok, I see what you're saying now. What I meant was that each vehicle (futures, cash) has a unique behavior and provides different signals. So, for me, it's best to watch them all to get all viewpoints. Again, this is just my method -- I'm sure there are many ways to skin a cat.

    ES Journal - 2013

All my long terms start short term. It's just what works for me. I don't trade often, but when I do I put on a decent position (for my risk tolerance, anyway) and keep the stop tight, with an aim to have a daytrade turn in to a swing trade. Yes, this might not work for everyone but it works...

That's a good question. I watch all the futures, indexes, and ETF's, if possible. ES seems to give good signals oftentimes and respects my little support/resistance system enough to give great risk:reward. Being Friday afternoon, I don't find this to be the best time to trade, generally, however.

    ES Journal - 2013

Sorry to intervene in this thread, I don't trade ES directly, but rather I use it for signals. I'm watching 1550.0 - 1550.50 right now (in the next 30 minutes) as resistance, we are currently below.

    Hot tip..

Hope marketsurfer reads my posts and got out when we bottomed at 1320 the other day. If this is a short shake-out, it sure has me fooled. Oh, and I'm a wimp, euphemistically speaking, for making the call but being unwilling to go long. I'm pessimistic by nature :)
