    The market cannot defeat you

If this were the case how do you think they would actually profit from it? They would push the market to the retail stops, then once all stops were elected they would push it back the other way? If they could really push the market like that they would have no use to run stops...just push it...

    Average Wall St paycheck $300k?

Considering an offer from a top prop firm in Chicago...future as a trader?

This makes alot of sense. Are you sure the word "prop" goes along with what these guys do? Sounds like a MM firm (most likely options) that doesn't require you to put up any money. The options will be a little slower to move to the screen. It really depends on where you want to go w/your life...

Pit trader looking to move off the floor

The front month in the s&p (big contract) is still traded in the pit. The volume is actually not that bad but it is a dying pit. Still some size that trades in there but I would stay away. I like the idea posted previously. Trade 1 lots like crazy till you get the feel and become profitable...

life after making mrkts on the floor

Yea...ISE is suing again. They want to list the S&P products but standard and poors/CBOE puts up a good fight. If they ever list them it will be the end of the spx. Hope its not anytime soon. (ohh.. im gonna get some sh*t for saying that) The spx is still a great pit but things are getting...

life after making mrkts on the floor

I work for a MM (options) and I am amazed at how fast we are going electronic. The percentage of electronic vs floor traded volume is turning at a fast clip. Its just my opinion but I would think that learning to trade from the screen now would be the way to go. Its still gonna be a while...

Stop gloating over declining home prices - it hurts

Most people KNOW what house they can and cant afford. If it feels too expensive and a little uncomfortable then it probably is. I have read a ton of articles where homeowners are upside down and just cant figure out what happened. No one forced those people to sign on the dotted line with a loan...

    YM Smart money

i see what your trying to figure out conr but i think even the big prints you see can be deceiving. i work for a mm firm (options) and often trade 100 lots. ive had up to 600 to sell at one time.scary cause there is obviously not that type of liquidity. i am just hedging option trades and not...

" Also, if you have a limit order in and you change it, it receives a new time stamp and loses its prior. Meaning, you go to the back of the line. " ddunbar...the order only goes to back of the line if you ADD contracts to it or change the price. However if you are working to buy 50 and you...

Cost Structure for CME Futures Traders

Simple question I cant seem to find the answer to. If you lease an IOM at the Merc , which allows you to trade the ES and NQ, would you be able to trade the ER2 as well under that membership? In other words would I have to lease a IOM and a GEM seat if I want to trade both products (es and er2)...
