That's because you are a master trader Max! You have traded when ES was 1800!

relative value & spreads vs. auction theory, market profile and all that

The PREM for an index is the following: add the futures and equivalent ETF then subtract index. 10*SPY + ES - 2*SPX 40*QQQ + NQ - 2*NDX 100*DIA + YM - 200*DJX 10*IWM + RTY - 2*RUT No, the CBOE cash index will lag the tradable instruments. The reasons are complicated. (HFT allows GLOBEX to...

    Day trading is for suckers?

Day trading using really advanced techniques is not for suckers. In fact it's so hard that bad traders better stay away from leverage and stick to swinging 1 lots............. If you don't know what the yield curve is, what index arbitrage and program trading are, or how the institutions...

relative value & spreads vs. auction theory, market profile and all that

    (1) Arbitrage happens if the ES aggressively trades outside of regular spread relative to SPX. Example: Sellers causing arbitrage to happen >> sellers on globex are causing removal of liquidity in cash market! Pushes SPX down. (2) Large Spec are managing aggressiveness of their orders, so...

Looking for Day trading/Swing teacher/mentor in Chicago area

I day trade using futures. I don't think that I could even teach a professional my methods. It would go something like this.... Check the risk spreads, index, or rate futures for divergence vs the trend in the exchange differential. Then you have to read the action on the synthetic portfolio...

    Contemplation of a bored mind...

Maybe you aren't getting it. Traders go where there is speculative trading happening so that they can participate. The daily volumes, the total open interest, the counter-party risk mitigation, leverage, regulatory framework, mass adoption, legal framework for the participation of public...

You are using some form of primitive high and low pivot system. It is idiocy. No better than that which you decry.

It would seem that you are using median trend lines and deviations from implied trend. Perhaps in the style of Andrew's? Similar to a pitchfork analysis. I have seen as much before.

Resto, I see that you are using median lines. Do you refer to them as such?

I don't get what the allure of these coins are. How much can you leverage the thing? Who gives a shit about absolute returns when the framework for levering and hedging the thing doesn't even exist? Add in the counter-party risk and it just seems like total noob shit to me. You can trade US...

No day trader on this planet can make yearly profits

The reason to trade like that is because you can trade very large size this way. You can do position sizes in the millions.

No day trader on this planet can make yearly profits

No, this is something like Long NQ and short ES. Or long YM and short ES but then day trade NQ at the same time.

No day trader on this planet can make yearly profits

Though I entirely agree with this, there is no difference. If you are short and the market is rallying, or long and the market is breaking then you are wrong. That's why I think it is almost always better to be long and short (with a bias) using any combination of NQ, YM, ES, or RTY. Most...

    Why not tradestation, TOS, Etrade......

Yes, it's all free. But, you are going to have to mess around with the stuff to get it working. If you have never programmed before it will be a struggle. [Well, the thinkscript stuff isn't free. I had to code that myself. But I used a lot of free scripts from here...

No day trader on this planet can make yearly profits

I don't think in terms of points. I always use the PREM. I built quant systems that track and measure the PREM so that I can front run the heavy algo's. The heavy algorithms are coming from the rate futures price action. When I average, I will wait as long as possible and then size up as...

No day trader on this planet can make yearly profits

Not sure. But I will say this. If I think there will be a turn, say I'm bearish, I will buy NQ and sell 2 ES or multiples of this. That way, if the market continues a rally into what I think will be a top I am ready to take profits at that point on the NQ and then let the short ES work...
