    What creates spikes?

My last post here because this thread has gone the wrong direction and changed into a how to click buttons thread. Yesterday the YM dropped over 100 points from the open. I don't have an exact number as i am not in front of my computer. However this was caused by not by a trend line break dojo...

    What creates spikes?

Exactly and the rest is all for you to fathom out but a little clue. It's got nothing to do with support resistance, moving average, candle patterns etc etc and I'm certain this will encourage some posts from the TA brigade. But if you take at least one piece of information away from this it...

    What creates spikes?

A stop order is the same as a market order as in they both consume liquidity. To trade size cheaply you need liquidity whether entering or exiting. If you don't have liquidity you will move the market in the direction of your intended trade thereby increasing or decreasing your average fill...

    Managing exits in manual trading

Maybe this thread is a little dated but it's a very important topic. Having read a lot of Rearden Metal posts the way he enters trades quite often leads to negative posts from other forum members as he is using non coventianal risk management. One of his quotes sums this up. "Here's something...

    What creates spikes?

I'm sorry I have not fully read this thread as it seemed to get detracted quite quickly. Spikes are caused in areas where there is an imbalance in the supply of liquidity and where there is an immediacy of demand required by traders. If you want to learn more about this I recommend learning...

Corn Futures Price Ladder - random or no?

I agree apple. Two things I am considering and these are based on posts from Garachen. Quote from "Garachen". This is all best done with a contract that is not super news sensitive and where there are a good proportion of manual traders vs algo traders. Esoteric Agricultural products may meet...

Corn Futures Price Ladder - random or no?

I have noticed similar occurrences on the Bund also. If you watch the DOM for long enough these things start to stand out from the norm. Are you trading any of these setups?

I first looked at your screen shot on my mobile and the volume was all I noticed but since looking at it on a bigger screen I agree with Phantom.

    how is this possible??? WTF!

That's strange. There's also a slice of volume missing.

    The ACD Method

The even more impressive part about this is that ACD would have got us into that trade up to an hour before..

Huge moves in FX land today after the upbeat CPI report. I have solid A´s in favour of dollar strength...

    The ACD Method

I would say if it failed as in it never breached the level I would give it a -2 if it failed the first A up and A down due to not enough time spent beyond the levels I would call it a 0 day. Don´t take my word on this as I am extremely new to this.

    The ACD Method

Hi ignl, I believe your correct in saying that its not just the number lines and that its more a culmination of many factors to reinforce your trading idea, However I do take in mind this one little snippet from Maverick. "But ALL my trading decisions are number line based. Not on sentiment."...

    The ACD Method

LOL RY, Heres another from the early 700's :-) "I have said this before and I will say it again. I don't care if you guys never trade a currency in your entire life, for the love of God, please watch them. Every major move in the last 200 years has been preceded by action in the currency...

    The ACD Method

Thanks for the Number Lines RY, I've been keeping track of quite a few fx pairs. All the pairs in the EUR group seem to be turning from negative to positive. With all the developments in the EZ at the moment there appear to be a lot of traders mid to longterm short on the EUR but the number...

    The ACD Method

Just scanning my charts and on the USDCAD you can see exactly what Fisher drew on the whiteboard when talking about the fire in the theatre. 3 consecutive A up's followed by a very big A Down today. Also the Pivot ranges had contracted a lot today was the smallest in 3 days and was also a small...

    The ACD Method

Hi Guys, This is my first post in the thread and I am completely new to method besides reading the book and this thread as many times as I can bear it. Just a quick question. I have been recording my number lines over quite a few FX pairs to try to see the ebbs an flow that Maverick talks...
