    What, no Black Monday thread?

Last '06 summer was a "real" correction and the Vix w/capitulation showed it so. Looking at the Vix (that has been trending up since Aug '07) the market may soon spike above 40 - perhaps as soon as this week. But per the thread title - yeah...when it happens most won't be on top of it...

Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men?

OK am I that intimidating or uninteresting or simple-minded to reply to? How pathetic, i am replying to myself to get more poll responses. "I'm a Loser", lol pS

    What, no Black Monday thread?

Me Thinks capitulation will occur when VIX reaches new highs: http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/quickchart/quickchart.asp?symb=vix&sid=0&o_symb=vix&x=0&y=0

Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men?

I was pondering this: Is there a location (website, etc.) besides the usual (after-the-fact) drivel: marketwatch, yahoo, cnnmoney, cnbc, bloomberg, etc. where people that retired from Wall Street or government agencies purport to KNOW what is really going on with all the money pilfering...

Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men?

MeT'inks i'll drum up a new "Black Monday" (lol) thread, and bark up the tree of 'Elitists': What do you think? Will we end this next week with the U.S. Stock Market indices (1) UP, (2) DOWN, (3) FLAT, (4) DON'T KNOW or (5) DON'T CARE??? Give it your best shot and see where we end up...

If the FED had never cut

yes, but that is the number there they absolutely wanted to avoid 1175 on the sp 500. Don't ask me why. Election year? Need for Republicans to stay in office at all costs? Hope that this year we won't go into a recession or God forbid a "Bear Market"? Or perhaps to salvage as much from...

    Still not a bear market

Hey ST: Lets's dissect this a bit. You DO know basic mathematics, right? Ok, you and your momo stocks have corrected and it was severe. You expect them to once again ascend with a market soon to be back at new highs - after all, this market melee is simply an over-reaction. Don't you...

So many BSC threads lets cut to the chase...

Yeah, and how many other firms are in the same situation. Trying to camouflage their over-leveraged nightmares? If BSC can lose its cash position on a dime, many more are likely just as vulnerable. Unless these securitised markets come back (in price) firms are sitting ducks. Still in...

The next bank to blow up...

It's all good! (if you are ST) After all, all we want is our long positions to go back up ASAP!! Aren't I genius financial guru?!? pseudo-quote form ST: "er um, yeah - thank God for quarterly earnings reports, because once the banks and brokerages report in coming week(s) the gained...

Maybe Stck-Turdr (sorry) should change his handle to "DoNoSquat" pS your are hilarious - more than me ha-ha pS Just tell us you are learning SOMETHING!?! Didn't I just say right after the 415 point and decreased odds of .75 rate cut - that with short-covering rally failures...

Is BSC worth more than $1 next week?

i don't think anyone has factored in the melee once everyone and their Mother decide to start suing these crooks.

Is BSC worth more than $1 next week?

Freak'n' incredible. Not long ago Ben says no major bank failures just small real estate -related fiascos. Then BSC Ceo say rumors are "ridicilous". Then overnight 24-hour (unexpected?/rumor-enabled) crunch crushes outfit. . . .now defunct pending takeover. All in just days! And...

    Still not a bear market

Hey kiddo, Listen to these words and take some advise. Almost every successful (and unsuccessful) trader here in ET land has gone through the same drama. First they experience some gains and then they are hooked into thinking that is all or what they are to continue and expect. Then...

This is probably why we have been selling off

Anyone notice that with each spike down in the Stock Market (August/Jan/recent) the bounce has been more and more short-lived. Ben's credibility is, well shot. pS Oh I know, tomorrow the US announces that China has been hording trillions of dollars over the last 50 years and is happy to...

This is probably why we have been selling off

Wow that's amazing. Probably just the tip of the iceberg. Back in August when the public became mostly aware of what hd been known since the beginning of the year, I thought this may be super-huge impact-wise to financial markets. But with the initial attempts by banks to play it off i...

too funny pS i can just see 'em now - Hey! It's NOT working! The market may go down a little more. . . AWWWWWAWWWWWW With banks shares so low they might get bought up and have massive lay-offs and pay cuts. What do you think the Emporer's Clubs are going to feel? :D pS
