    It depends. I know someone whom I consider my mentor. He's been trading since the mid-80s. He's guided me through learning about the market. But he is not a very good trader IMO. He's rich from RE, you see. He's just not hungry enough or disciplined enough to have been a successful...

    Time decay and IV contraction can make this strategy a loser. It's called Gamma scalping and it is feasible in the right environment. That's the tricky part.:)

    I'm no surfer, used to body surf in the 60-70s, but the analogy is good. You can't ride a wave until the surge is forming, but you can't wait either or you will get smashed.
