clearing fees only apply when you let the contract expire right? i never do that. i am aiming to reduce my 1.60~$ exchange/reg fee to something smaller (hopefully one of the 0.32$ tiers.) all the options iv looked at are too expensive. does noone know a way to reduce CME commissions on the cheap?

i think this is the major drawdown (or benefit) of forex. there is no single market price you can say 'this was the top' or 'this was the bottom'. its just a bunch of disconnected market makers all offering different prices, using different algos to price etc, and connected to unique...

it really does'nt matter 'how' it makes money. just that it does make money. and you have the statistics behind it to support future performance. you could have a trend following system that only makes money on days beginning with 'T' and it still isint a bad thing :) as long as the statistics...

but they dont pay interest for currency balances under 10k (for usd) and similar for others. i think i have about 8k spread out in various currencies other than my base currency which sits there and earns me nothing. i hope IB changes that. the inactivity fee shouldnt be an issue for anyone...

agreed. iv been automated trading for a year now and couldn't trade manually to save my life. being able to trade by hand is definitely not a prerequisite to being able to make a successful automated system.
