    Question to WTS traders.

I've read elsewhere that there is a $1,500 training fee (NYC WTS). Is this true?

    Transitioning from firm to firm...

Ideally, I tried to get into a shop which has a salary and good training, but I did not have much luck securing a position. Now I am looking at shops with no salary and in most cases a lesser reputation. Also, from what I have seen, the shops which offer salary seem to have a longer training...

    Market knowledge- Prop interview....

Would come off as "toolish" during the interview, yes? I understand what you are saying. If this interview did actually happen, what questions would you believe would be asked in that case? More general- Where is the Dow at? # of Job losses in Jan? What is Support/resistance? Or, if...

    Market knowledge- Prop interview....

Damn, they just cancelled the whole trading class, apparently. I really liked what they projected and was very excited for this. Sadness

    Market knowledge- Prop interview....

Hey, In two weeks, I have a prop interview where the firm explicitly notes that they will give, "Simple questions to test market knowledge." This is reasonable and a good thing. I am new to trading by most means, but I have done reading on simple market/trading aspects such as...

Interview- Where do you see yourself in...

If I could add, somewhat related- During the interviews, do you want to project yourself as somewhat cocky? Or just very confident? I guess showing energy would be important as well. Also, I realize most of these places have a casual dress code. It shouldn't be an issue if I am wearing...

Interview- Where do you see yourself in...

To be honest, I actually agree with what you said. Although I don't have that $$ now. I agree in that I think you learn the most when making mistakes yourself and following your own plan, learning from it, perfecting it. But as I said, I don't have 10k laying around and to be honest if I...

Interview- Where do you see yourself in...

Haha, it's true. In 10 years I want to be daytrading from home and hopefully doing well, no doubt on that. But I do doubt they want to hear that. Thanks for the replies

Interview- Where do you see yourself in...

Hey guys, Mostly a reader of this forum and have learned a lot so far. Overall, I have been in a few prop interviews and have received this question: "Where do you see yourself in 2,5,10 years." I can't say I really know what type of answer they are looking for. In a banking sense...

    Which firm is this?

Hi, Does anyone know what shop this is? Seems like it is rather unique writing/approach and I am thinking someone may have an idea. Thanks http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/acc/925238213.html "From an early age, we are all conditioned by our families, our schools, and virtually...

    Good paper trading stimulator...

I should have phrased it better, MTE. I want to try it either way, whether it helps my cause or not. Thanks, Lucky...Any other suggestions are appreciated.

    Good paper trading stimulator...

Hey guys, I don't actually know if this belongs here, but I have been on a few prop interviews and one of my issues (and interviewer's concerns) is that I have never spent a day actually pure trading from open to close. It is certainly something I want to do, to both test myself, see how I...

Would Prop be the way to go?

Thanks for the advice. GPA is 3.15. Just put the range there to give you all an idea. Either way I know that is too low for any banks, in most cases. Business school would be nice, but I wouldn't get into a good one until I had a few years of solid work experience, great GMATs, etc...

Would Prop be the way to go?

Hi, I graduated in May of this year with a degree in business/finance and have recently started to explore trading roles and my chances with them. I come from a NYC school that is not a huge target, but it is starting to earn more respectability on the street. GPA is between 3.10-3.30. I...
