    Day Trading to Multimillionairedom

I generally agree with the premise: very few. However, they do exist. This guy on average carries positions for two days, so not a day trader, but still relevant: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Simons_(mathematician) Rare - absolutely. Impossible - no.

Can someone living in the US with no visa open an account with TD Ameritrade?

I don't understand it either. But the fact is, that Schwab accepts clients from Germany, the UK, Spain and Switzerland and no other countries in Europe. I am struggling to understand why.

I have been on this board for years. This is hands down the most funny comment I have seen ;-) Would put it on Reddit, if I knew how to.

Insider-trading indictment involving Bloomberg News stories before their publishing

Most likely the time span between getting hold of the information and the release of the information is short. So they have to trade close to the announcement. They also likely will trade with heavy volume to make it worthwhile and because they are greedy. If they were not greedy, they would...

Insider-trading indictment involving Bloomberg News stories before their publishing

"The SEC said the case originated from its Analysis and Detection Center, which seeks out suspicious patterns, especially with traders who possess unusually good timing, or with the shares of companies that are about to announce market-moving news." That seems like quite an easy task...

Lightspeed Order Flow Finra Violation Dissappointment, Suggestions?

Because "so many people" use IB. When "so many people" use a broker, a lot of them will lose money and complain about poor fills when in fact they just made poor trades. The base rate take away is: Many people use IB. That fact alone speak volumes.

Rules differ by jurisdiction so this is tentative, but yes normally of course you can deduct that charge. I assume you should include the charge in calculating the net gain/loss on shorted stocks and...

    IB Midprice Order

It seems the algo only adjusts to become more and more agressive until filled. Consequently, I prefer to adjust the limit manually, but would like to experiment and gather data. "If it doesn't fill, it is resubmitted at a slightly more aggressive price. It continues this pattern of "wait and...

    Split the spread order

It seems the algo only adjusts to become more and more agressive until filled. I would prefer the algo to move up and down with the market. "If it doesn't fill, it is resubmitted at a slightly more aggressive price. It continues this pattern of "wait and move" within the spread until it fills...
