erm i do know what they do. i use my own strategy with all custom indicators. and i do know why they work because i made them based on my ideas. but what i'm saying is if i don't just follow the signals blindly i can avoid chop and whipsaw... =.=''

hmm i pick the trades by identifying when it is going to chop/whip saw. i don't think i can quantify it so i'm not sure how do i find the "edge" in that rather than instinct? really have no clue how to understand the fundamental truth on that "edge" :confused:

yup i totally get wut u mean. well come up with a formula ur comfortable with well as in money management lets say for example ur at 4 ticks and ur willing to push it up in accordance to how much it has gone up so what i m saying u will probably not get 1 point even if it goes up by 1 point but...

i think it is all a matter of style, preference, and strategy. some people really want to ride their winners and will settle at break even while some people prefer to be more secure and take profits sooner. no ur not an idiot, its just that some days just don't go the way ur strategy was meant...

really hate days like today. just plain slow. not across the board tho but still slower than the norm

i do watch level 2 and sometimes its 200 : 200 during slower times of the day. won't that affect the price and won't huge orders affect fills and stuff like that? =/ just wondering who here has realistically done it over a period of time and whats in your opinion the ideal "maximum" size

yeh but is it safe? those guys might be institutions and stuff but would it be easy to get rid of lets say 300 contracts with little slippage when the market moves fast against you?

well i think there are a lot of elements to enforce discipline. for one, you have too much in your account to lose. depending what you trade, if u don't NEED that much cash to trade u should keep your account size as small as possible so you would not go double down on your losses. true, most...

if u use an excel spreadsheet and put his old numbers in. considering consistency all the way thru and he ups his contracts and take into account that he is more disciplined and improved strategy. i dun see why its unachievable. :p
