Thanks for all the responses.. Luto, when you say the quality can degrade on the second monitor, can you explain that a little more. Are you refering to the Geforce or ATI.. or both? I currently have 2 dell Flat panels which i will be using for the new comp.

Putting together a Dell System.. and totally confused on which video card would be suitable for me. The choices are between a GeForce 128 versus a ATI Radeon 256 (400 dollars more). Does greater memory with the ATI make a difference in outputing the images on my screen?

Its pretty funny to goto a trading conference and watch presenters use keywords like moving average crosses or using bollinger bands. The facts are that these people tend to sell books and while it sounds practical.. its much better on paper then in trading. I went through it the hard way...

Something doesn't seem right.. I don't know if this is a one-time deal you are talking about or this is an "often" experience. Most daytraders know that it is VERY rare to have island on the inside while orders are being filled on the outside.

Well the simple answer is that it is a private agreement between family members and myself. However, to my knowledge, while many hedge funds charge 20% they are allowed to charge far above that if they want. I don't have the names in front of me, but its not unheard of 50%+.

Quick question for anyone familar with wrap fees. When filling the form out for IB's Friends and Family account, it restricts me from charging above 30% on a quarterly basis. Is this some kinda law? I am interested in a higher percentage.

I worked in multiple daytrading firms (prop and non-prop) and from my experiences, 80-90% lose money. (Actually most daytraders break even, but continue lose when adding commish to the daytrading firms.) The owners of firms never want you to hear that because it hurts new blood. So now...
