    Why do traders fail?

Unfortunately trading is not pay per hour job, it doesn't work like that. More like a business in this sense. In our "real" business we have the same: some days are actually "down days" cause we pay salaries and store maintenance and day's sales don't cover that. But other days more than cover...

    Why do traders fail?

Honesty I am an adversary of setting targets. They are purely artificial element in trading and don't reflect market reality, which is: profits and losses are never distributed evenly over time. The best "target" I would think about would be setting fixed trading hours and take every quality...

    Why do traders fail?

Many people seriously underestimate labor investment needed to achieve success in trading. As a result they are locked in a situation when years are already spent with no positive result, but admitting it as a loss to even diversify (find a job or like that) is hardly possible for them...

    Why do traders fail?

I agree ego problems often interfere and lead to catastrophic consequences. But provided the healthy ego situation gradual increase in size while liquidity comfortably allows makes sense to me. And honestly $20/day in NQ x 5 doesn't cover expenses even in Russia and even with no ex-wives our...

    Why do traders fail?

Yes, that's of course natural tendency to dominate. But it's this way in many easily scalable areas. I doubt many talented musicians would settle with playing in the local bar if they easily could share their talent with millions. All it takes in trading to scale up in liquid markets is add...

    Why do traders fail?

Yea, some business models assume user is a PRODUCT and not client. :) This is the case with free online resources.

    Why do traders fail?

Well, this time it was me, so have to explain. :) I perfectly understand why one person would help another person for FREE. That motivation of personal sympathy looks perfectly logical to me. Most likely not in format of public thread targeted to help strangers, but personal friendly help...

    Why do traders fail?

I agree with your points with few notes: 1) I assume one increases size when it obviously fits in rules. Say always risk 2% of account and add another contract when it will make risk per trade 2% (as account grows). 2) Indeed I only assumed trading within the natural limits of liquidity...
