    Home alone vs office

I have to agree with Metoxx. I trade for a prop firm with none of my own money...and I traded at their office for first 2 1/2 years...and now Im a remote trader...since 9/1/2002. First, I would never recommend any new trader to start on your own from home because there is just too much to...

    OPG Orders

I wont go into details since I cant give away something that took me 3 years to learn and cost me tens of thousands to discover....but suffice it to say that I try to get in on the first print of the day. That has good and bad points...simply - if it goes your way, its good; if it goes against...

    OPG Orders

I honestly don't know exactly what strategy you folks are talking about...but my opening trade consists of watching those listed stocks that open late with gap up or down. But on any given stock that gaps up or down, I will usually get filled anywhere bewteen 0 - 5000 shares depending on where...

    OPG Orders

Np upticks? Well..Isn't that the reason for using conversions/bullets? I truly believe that if you are not able to use bullets in daytrading, your profits would decrase by mor than 50%. If you are in some firm that does not allow you to utilize bullets, I say you need to move. Second, the...

    Staying in longer

If everybody had the steely disciplinet hat darkhorse has, we'd all be millionaires. The fact is, we are not machines and we overcome to human emotions. As the saying goes, "It's not that we dont know what to do - it's that we don't do what we know". Why do you think crack addicts keep...

    Lion's Group Trading

By all means, try to make money at all times..However, most daytraders will tell you that most money is made first hour and last hour. In between, you should read a book or watch someone trade. You will save yourself alot of money by staying away from trading middle of the day. As for one...

Im a current trader at wldc..been there for 3 years. Im stil here for many reasons..but the bottom line is that, to me, Wldc offers a good combination of service/price. I do not know what it is like at Bright or Generic or Andover or Schony... but I know people at those firms. All the firms...

    prop firms and etfs

The ETF's are short sale exempt stocks..you can short them on downtick...at exchanges or ECN's. You dont need any special authorization to trade them at Wldc except the capital requirement I mentioned above.

    prop firms and etfs

Im at Wldc and , yes, you can trade the SPY, QQQ and DIA. And you can trade them through ECN's (ISLD, ARAC, INCA and REDI book) - same rates, no ECN charges. However, those stocks are on what is called a RESTRICTED LIST. This list is an on-going list that has abut 15 - 20 stocks that many...

    Daytrading the SPY or QQQ...?

First, the strategies I use for other stocks do not work at all for index stocks. I traded basically news stock at the open. Thats my bread and butter strategy... and Im what you might call a "tape reader". Try reading tape of SPY or QQQ. Simply does not apply. Why am I interested in...

    Missing the bid

First of all, if you are thinking of buying a stock, I wouldn't want the stock if I got filled at the bid or near the bid. Second, if a stock is ripping and you wanted to buy it, (for listed stocks at the exchanges) and the quote is not spread up, the best thing to do is probably enter a buy...
