When does one start trading big

Perhaps, this is why you still are trading while others are yachting somewhere around Bora Bora. After all big traders did not become big by trading 10 lots day in and out. Since you argue that for 100 ES contracts $50.000 is not enough hen what # is ? One more thing, in the future, try...

$500 intra day margins - reasons

I have not eaten at MC since the mid 90's. They towed my car while I was inside trying to digest their pseudo food. Long story short, that year my attorney had enough money to get his swimming pool redone and I swore never to dine at thier fine establishments ever again. Then again, maybe I...

$500 intra day margins - reasons

By the same account he will also have a much greater probability of going bust and stop providing com. fees altogether. So, I see where you coming from, but I still do not understand the logic behind it. It seems very short sighted. :( :(

When does one start trading big

You missed the original question by a mile or two. nevertheless, two points: 1. You are assuming a 60% winning rate and based your conclusion on an assumption. Not very mathematical is it? Be that as it may, you state that eventually there are going to be several losing trades in a row, the...

$500 intra day margins - reasons

So they basically entice people to trade more by providing this kind of margin and consequently have them blow up. Sad

$500 intra day margins - reasons

I am still searching for the ever elusive "best futures broker" and I have noticed an interesting trend. Namely, that many of the brokerages offer $500 intra day margins, some even go as low as $300. My question is: Why are they putting such teaser rates??? After all are they really expecting...

When does one start trading big

If Ido not know how to trade then of course, whether I open a $500 account and do 1 contract or open $50,000 and do 100, I will finish the account in no time. It is a given. However, please re visit my original question. Iam asking why people who consistently make $$$ in the market do not up the...

When does one start trading big

Granted, I do not have it, but we are talking here about a seasonal trader that has been consistently making $$$$ trading first 1 then 2 then 5 then 10 then 20 then 50 lots, not me a newbie. That makes a big difference. My original question was, how come guys who have been in the trenches and...

When does one start trading big

Precisely my point. Why would I want to risk my $50,000 trying to catch a major break out and get 3 or 4 point, if I could try to catch 1 point with 100 contracts and pocket $5000. Even a mediocre trader can spot the time when the market is trending and get that one point once a day...
