    Nassim Taleb: Ask Me Anything

Sounds like a horrible strategy - in another thread a study was shown regarding different options strategies and which ones were most and least profitable over the long term - selling puts was the best, so buying puts would generally be the worst. Combine that with limited profit T-bill interest...

How do you determine rut in the markets are over?

Let's take the early February cave in the markets. Tons of people were saying, and many likely are still saying, that we are going to retest those lows. Then we had the big drop the other day when Trump brought up the whole tariff thing. So when something like this happens, what is the...

    Flag pattern

I'm still trying to figure out whether we call this a flag pattern or not really makes a difference or is just a matter of semantics - whether its called a flag or just a strong trend, followed by consolidation/mild pullback, followed by resumption of the strong trend, does it matter?

    Flag pattern

How can they be counter trend Handle? Looks like there is a bull flag and a bear flag. In the bull one, market is going up, starts to consolidate/drop a bit, then goes up again, big. In a bear flag it looks like the opposite. So is a flag just a trend, followed by a consolidation/slight...

    Flag pattern

Thanks Spectre. When the successive stops are hit, and those of traders that had sold short, so as soon as the price goes up their stops are hit, forcing them to buy, causing the stock underlying to break out to the upside at the end?

No no, don't sell yet Soes. Stay in, after brief consolidation will shoot up into the close and then you can catch the overnight increase as well....

    Flag pattern

Is the flag part supposed to trend down, as opposed to just being straight across? What makes the flag aspect special - is it different that there just being an uptrend, followed by a consolidation trend and break out? I'm a rookie here, very curious. Thanks!

How I made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market

Is this book legit? Can you really clean house on Wall St. by drawing simple boxes on your stock chart and buying when the price rises out of the box, selling when it drops back into the box? That easy?

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Brianharvey, when you say contract rollover happens today, is that futures or options contracts? I think I know what you mean - one dated contract is expiring, so people will have to replace it with the next dated contract. But what generally (or can) happen on this rollover? Prices spike...

Why would anyone go long both the long levered ETF and short levered ETF, when they both decay over time? S2007S, if you do that, explain your logic please.

    Thoughts on this Crypto-currency strategy?

Jack, thanks a ton. No no, not baiting at all. Just trying to make some $$$ in this nutty crypto stuff. Definately would hold the long coins in the same account. So let's say I'm convinced, 100% convinced, and my conviction is accurate, that my mix of "non-bitcoin" coins will go up at...
