    Real Tick Scanner/Filter

I currently use realtick as my charting software. I want to start using a scanner which I can customize to my criteria but is compatible with Real Tick. I don't want to use the canned scanners like the Oz Scan. I want it too look for big bids and offers stepping up and down in NY stocks. I...

Will Amex trading OTC be good?

Problem is are they really going to roll out supermontage on time. They keep pushing it back for various reasons. Have you heard the most recent date now for really rolling it out?

    what is your top-ten stocks-list ?

I can see the high volume part but not the high volatility in your stocks. I don't think $2 and $4 stocks like JDSU and CIEN can be very volatile unless you are talking about historical data from 2 years ago. KLAC, NVLS, AMGN, MXIM, and QCOM might be good.

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

I am assuming this was not directed at me. I was just asking a question because I did not understand what was going on. I just accepted the fact that it is the way it is.

Will Amex trading OTC be good?

I had the pleasure of trading some nasdaq stocks with AMEX participation this morning for the michigan sentiment number. Talk about killing moves. I don't even want to hit the AMEX unless everyone else can because he kills all the moves anyway so if I was the only one getting filled I would...

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

Then I got screwed (which I already know and realize that is what I am dealing with). If you saw my other posts I had a bid out below the current market about 30 seconds ahead of time. I am at 28.42 he is at 28.46/28.5. He opens the spread out to 28.40 and prints several thousand shares...

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

I never pulled my order. I waited until after I got filled at 47 when he moved his quote back up to cancel my original order. The trade happened in the first 30 minutes of the day probably around 15 minutes into the trading day. I don't have the exact time, but it is the low of the first 30...

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

It is true what you are saying about nasdaq stocks. However there are not many big liquid Nasdaq stocks over $50. You start to lose some trading options this way. However like all the other posts have pointed out there are definitely some tradeoff to trading NYSE stocks too. I love the price...

Your most Violent Outburst while Trading?

My temper is pretty in check most of the time, but I know a trader that got mad and punched a whole in the wall and broke his hand at the same time. It was back when high volume momentum nasdaq scalping was the thing to do. Hard to be fast on the keys when you have a cast on. Another kind...

Will Amex trading OTC be good?

Are they actually able to hit the AMEX quote for their nasdaq trades? The crosses occur because most people can't hit the AMEX because it is not automated. The specialist and his molasses hands can't keep up with the pace of nasdaq where everyone is used to fast fills. Kind of weird...

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

Thanks everyone for the replies and the couple of PM. I found out what I wanted to find out. Looks like it is part of trading NYSE. It sucks but I guess you learn to live with it if you trade NYSE. Good info for me for the future though. I was pretty pissed this morning about it, but if I...

    low trading volume continues

That is funny because the Bright traders I know are losing their asses the past month or so. So maybe not all the Bright traders are making a killing. I guess it all depends on which office you are in and how you are trading.

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

I am trying to keep it real. This is what I wanted to find out, how often this happens. I have traded NYSE a couple of months and it has not happened to me like this before. I have had missed fills I thought I should have had, but know that is part of the game. Never anything this blantantly...

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

My limit order was out like 30 seconds before he moved his quote down from 28.46/28.50. My bid out there at 42 to get out of the short. He first moved his bid down to 40 and printed a bunch. Then he moved his quote to 28.40/28.42. Then he moved it to 28.39/28.41 and printed at 28.39. After...

NYSE Trading -- Is this legal?

I am a newer NY trader so I don't know how often this happens, but I can't see how it can be legal. So can I please get some comments on this from some NY traders. How often does this happen, is it legal, what can be done about it, or was it just a "fluke" trade and part of the territory...

    Questrade

I don't know how it works since you are in Canada but wouldn't it be better to talk to some US firms and trade remote with them. I am assuming that they could do this because I have heard remote traders in other countries. What real advantages are you getting with going with this firm seeing...

    Stop Worrying About Deals!

I agree that there is enough info on other threads to cover what deals are currently out there. We don't need a new thread on this every other day. However I disagree about the fact that you should not worry about your deal going in. Most traders starting at a prop shop want to succeed and...

    Offer from Wordco

How many trades a day do you get this kind of set up in and how many stocks are you watching and trading at the same time? Are you focusing on the same 5 stocks everyday or do you have marketminders setup up with numerous stocks? I used to be able scalp Nasdaq stocks with this risk to reward...
