Foreclosure Numbers Going In Wrong Direction: Getting Much, Much Worse

ralph, not to get too far off topic; but that bubble in the 80's was not much less than the last run up. i remember shopping centers going belly up, foreclosures, etc. the same as currently. to me this is as if its a rerun. the only thing that is different is we have the internet letting people...

Foreclosure Numbers Going In Wrong Direction: Getting Much, Much Worse

that auction was me in 1989 buying my first home for 1/2 of 1988 high. in those days we went through a horrible crisis in the ensuing years. let's just say , we recovered and i did real well since then. i am buying now again and i know what i'm doing.

    gary williams

lol. good for your little fantasy. P.T. Barnum was right. btw, my "friends" took exactly as you outlined and all i can tell you is that his wife took a job and he is taking all the overtime that the FAA will allow. there is not a soul who is making a living from any of these scam courses...

    Mansions Go Under the Gavel

i am still shocked that so few have the perspective that all this happened 19 years ago during the S&L crisis. i bought my first home (a condo with 30' boat slip) at an absolute auction for less than half asking price. it took nine years before the price reached the original 1989 price of 330k...

Cash for clunkers will get many people even more indebted

agreed. i have never had a loan on a vehicle. the last one i bought was in 2006 and it cost >80k. all my friends who tell me constantly how stupid i am for not leasing or financing shockingly have a much lower net worth than me. maybe there is something there.

Doctors In Financial Trouble: Many Selling Their Practices & Switching Careers

dumbass, i said "father in law". i am a trader, not a doctor. i am only in the know of what he tells me at the dinner table and per his descriptions much money is still there; for young and old docs. angry immature losers like you bring nothing to the table. good luck in continued ruining ET.

Doctors In Financial Trouble: Many Selling Their Practices & Switching Careers

dude, you are the most negative articulate educated person i ever come across on the web. my fatherinlaw is a 68 year old gastroenterologist specialist who also speaks of how bad things are; yet vacations constantly, spends thousands in restaurants, essentially living quite well for decades...

    Black Swan

of course i agree with spin. my only 2 cents is if you have simple credit spreads and the market blows through them; there is no defense. short futures after the fact and you can get killed even worse. best thing is to close for the loss. you can move to fly's, debit spreads and other ratio...

Owners Scraping Serial Numbers Off & Abandoning Boats: Coast Is Littered

my first home came with a 40' boat slip and i proceeded to boat for almost 20 years. moved from 18', 27' boats to finally a 34' sea ray. all boats were paid for within the two year's and still cost thousands per year to own. luckily in a wind storm at dockage another boat came free (damn...

    Options Mentoring

i hate to admit that i am enjoying watching this train wreck. this guy has to be putting you all on. i would believe him if he posts some screen shots of the amazing riskfree trades. there should be no worry on his end as the logic of the trade cannot be replicated by mere mortals. then i'll...

My thesis on what happens next.........

i am not optimistic; all that i am aware of is of economic cycles. how come in all your rants and pasted links you never balance yourself with the historical facts regarding what drove us out of each recession in the past 35 years? lastly, as stocktrader posts bullish nonsense with some loose...

My thesis on what happens next.........

just like the simple thinkers who thought the real estate boom would never end; the chicken littles see no end to this recession. i will never change their minds (although they are prolific writers; they are not intelligent). you guys can buy your ammo while i position myself for the recovery...

Obama's economic plan is an already failed one

jeeze guys. i own a nice amount of "real" industrial robots. sure they save labor; but no where near what some poster's quote. firstly, if they did as some describe , they would blow away cheap foreign labor. they do not! ever consider the initial cost, ongoing costs(ie:support), and the labor...

$60 Trillion Loss (Great Depression 2009)

ok, you are clearly educated and well read; but imo wrong. have you been through any major recessions? i have, and this one is a tough one; but not much worse than the last big one (read s-l crisis). i have multiple businesses that are construction related that are picking up. mind you, when the...

    Protecting Assets From a Divorce

thanks karol88, i did want to add; posting about so called "good" marriages are actually on topic to the thread. if one was to conclude that a marriage can not end up in divorce by doing some of the points presented like above....you are protecting your assets from a divorce! similar to trading...

    Worse than the Great Depression

as i subscribe to a paper called "the commercial record"; i am surprised to see home prices holding and homeowners still getting big mortgages. regarding stamford, prices are down from 703k to 620k year over year and sold homes in 07 @ 562 ytd compared to 338 ytd for 2008. it is possible for...

    Worse than the Great Depression

ok , now you went overboard. everyone is overreacting. you guys are surrounded by too much info that is repeating the doom over and over feeding your fear. i am no bull; although i do have a bias for the economy to survive. sounds so trendy to cry like babies the sky is falling. what about...
