German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

For the european futures, it will be 0.45 EUR (not Dollar) per transaction, but it is still a very good rate. With your kind of volume, it really makes a difference already, so I am glad if that info was helpful :-)

German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

@trade2win: Lots of reading to get a good knowledge base, for example: http://www.amazon.de/Markets-Analysis-Strategies-Frank-Fabozzi/dp/0273766139/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422283568&sr=8-1&keywords=bond+markets...

German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

Quant, why should it only make sense for large volume ? It gets even cheaper if you trade more than 1,000 contracts a month, but even if you trade only 10 RTs a month, you only pay 2.20 EUR for a RT on FGBL, which is much better than the 4.00 EUR you pay.

German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

Quant, I would not really scalp futures with IB's TWS. But if you do, you should change your commissions structure from the fixed pricing (=2 EUR per contract) to Cost-Plus Tiered commissions. With CostPlus you will only pay 0.90+0.20 EUR per FGBL = 1.10 EUR. So per RT, you will save 1.80 EUR ...

German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

    @just21: Consider a 6% 10-year Federal Bonds (Bunds) with actual/actual annual interest payment. When Yield = 4%, bond price = 116.22179 When Yield = 3.99%, bond price = 116.31102 When Yield = 4.01%, bond price = 116.13265 DV01=(0.08923 + 0.08914) / 2 = 0.089185 Therefore, 10-yr DV01 /...

German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

Yes, for index futures I also prefer Eurex. The Eurostoxx50 (FESX) is the european equivalent to the S&P500 emini. The moves are similar, same for liquidity. I also like the DAX (FDAX), but it is a large contract. I moves almost 1:1 with the FESX, but it is just higher value. I also spread the...

German Bond Futures - Which one better for daytrading?

Hi Quant, depends what kind of trading you want to do, but I would say that most here can forget about the FGBS (Schatz). It just moves a few ticks every day, and the tick value is only 5 EUR, but the exchange fees are the same like FGBM (Bobl) and FGBL (Bund), 0.20 EUR. If you want to start...

Please recommend Futures Broker and Platform

@Alex: Alex, DDT is a very good choice. Dont let you scare by the simple website design :-) With DDT, your FCM will be Crossland, which is one of the best, in my oppinion. Your funds will be in a segregated account at Fifth Third Bank. DDT is just your introducing broker, and one of the better...

    Market down ??

Hi guys, I hope you have an idea whats going on, something is really wrong here. Many stock symbols on my platform dont update anymore, for example AAPL and IBM !! It seems many symbols are affected, I think it might have to do with the russian crisis in Europe. Maybe some of you have more...

    large index futures contracts

@OTCkrak: yes it is mostly about the commissions. The FDAX/ FESX is a good example. An FESX roundturn is 0.40 EUR cheaper than an FDAX RT (because of lower exchange fees), but I have to trade about 7 FESX to have the same firepower like 1 FDAX. So lets say for 1 FDAX you pay 2.00 EUR per RT...

    large index futures contracts

Hi guys, what are the largest index futures you know ? Especially in the US and Europe ? The Eurex FDAX is pretty large, do you know of other contracts with high nominal and/or high tick value ? I know there is the large Dow Jones Future with 25$ per tick, but there is no volume in that...
