Swing Trading

fwiw: I have no connection with Alan either, but I would like to add that I hold him in very high regard, unlike about 90% of the guru industry.

Please, I would like to hear several gurus each tout their own site and then start arguing over who is better.

    Virus Problems

"Let's not go off half-cocked all you chikenlittles out there." That was my original attitude. However, I also have those 2 files EMM486 and the other one. I have win2K. They won't delete - "file is in use." I just downloaded "The Cleaner" anti-Trojan program from download.com and used it...

    fed announcement days

If you are day trading, imo be flat when the announcement comes out. It is too much like gambling to hold a position.

Whoa! How do you make text so big? That is pretty cool. If Baron deletes it, then all of the tips I posted get deleted, too:mad: I posted all of that so that no one would want to download the darn thing. And especially after all of this negative feedback, I don't see why anyone would.

    Virus Problems

Dude, have you read the thing? Each article is written by one of the OLTA instructors. They probably did not put their name on the tripod site on purpose. And I'm sorry if someone's computer got F'd up, but he did edit the registry which is a big no-no if you're not a computer person.

    Virus Problems

I used it with no problems yet (knock on wood). I posted the only "good" stuff in it on the original "free e-book" thread. The ebook is from tradingacademy.com - The on-line trading academy. I think you are giving those guys WAY too much credit with this malicious program thing. Does this...

Good luck. That's a tall order. Do you have a discretionary system that is making money now?

    free daytrading ebooks

I agree. They are lame. Those "tips" were the best part. I posted all of that so that no one would have to download their "free" ebook, which is one giant advertisement for newsletters, stock picks, and lame "educational materials." The "book reviews" are hilarious - "This book is great" oh...

    Stock Pick Site:

trdrmac gave you some good advice. fwiw, I would say avoid stock pickers altogether. Watch the market, paper trade, trade small, experiment, learn from mistakes. If you must buy a service, Alan Farley at HRE and Vadym at realitytrader are two "gurus" (they both hate that word) who are...

Trading Tip #71: Beware the wicked witch The third Friday of the months of March, June, September and December are triple witching months. That means that options on stock, futures and index’s all expire at the same time and often cause wild gyrations in the market. It can create...

Trading Tip #51: It is better to average up than to average down Stocks go down for a reason. If you buy a stock and it goes down, why buy more? If you have a stock that is going up, well, wouldn’t you want to own more of your winners? Trading Tip #52: Buy when the people that "know,"...

Trading Tip #21: TIME TO BUY One of the best times to buy is when a stock is going down on low volume (with no news) as compared to recent increases on higher volume. This suggests that the selling is lighter and that the holders of the stock that are going to sell have finished selling and...

    free daytrading ebooks

Here is "the good stuff." (and I use that term loosely) The rest is a giant sales pitch. I tried to upload this as a file, but I don't have Word, and ET won't let me upload a Wordpad file. Trading Tip #1: Historical Data Estimates are important because we value stock based on what we...

    Soes / Selectnet

What's so special about SOES / SELECTNET that I have to pay cancellation fees. I don't have to pay them at other ECN's They are owned by NASDAQ. That's the difference. Selectnet is effectively worthless to individual traders now that SuperSoes is available. It is possible to trade...

    How To Get News

Dow Jones, Bloomberg, and Reuters are the 3 big ones, afaik. They are, for most people, "crazy expensive." I had the Dow feed for a while in RealTick It was a full-time job to read all the headlines going across it. It was nice to get Fed and economic numbers so quickly, as you mention...
