European Union President Calls US Economic Measures 'A Road to Hell'

Whether he's right or wrong remains to be seen. But regardless, you have to question the timing of this. An article bashing the USA the same day he is voted out of office on a confidence motion? Could be a coincidence. Or could be an angry politician taking others down with him on his way...

European Union President Calls US Economic Measures 'A Road to Hell'

The guy can't even run his own country let alone captain the EU ship. I don't put a lot of stock into what he has to say.

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

Yeah advice and calls from "guru's" need to be taken with a grain of salt for sure. But as you said, some "guru's" are worthwhile to read/listen to because of their unique viewpoints. It's important to form your own viewpoint based on the ideas you read about however.

Yep Cramer Said Go Long Financials 3/24/09

Cramer bashing is getting really old and tiring. If he's no good, stop paying attention to him and he'll eventually go away.

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

Easy credit is definitely not the ONLY way to jump start an economy. Easy credit is not history however. It won't be AS easy, but I guarantee people will be still be getting loans who shouldn't be, and won't be able to pay them back.

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

If unemployment continues to rise then yes, getting people to spend will absolutely be a problem. I believe what you're talking about is stagflation. This would be a problem. But I think people are putting the odds of China doing something drastic way too high. China knows their economy...

    The joys of socialized medicine:

No idea where you got this information...it is completely false. Do you honestly believe there are no medical helicopters in Canada/Quebec?! Come on man, we do not live in igloos and we've advanced into the flight era. Ignorance is frustrating.

    The joys of socialized medicine:

I used to respect your posts before I read this. I am Canadian and you, sir, have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Canada. Go read the other LENGTHY thread on this topic that shuts down the waiting list and lower quality of care argument... And by the way, the TSX is...

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

How can you be sure consumer spending won't pick back up? I think you are overestimating the intelligence of most people... Once the economy appears to be back on track, asset values stablize, and the media stops predicting the end of the world, I think most consumers will forget all about...

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

    - I wouldn't be so sure about this. - I wouldn't be so sure about this. - I wouldn't be so sure about this. - This comment I can dig.

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

    - Very true. - Are you able to cite a specific example? Not that I don't believe you (I know most pundits do make numerous calls) but I am somewhat cynical by nature and also have only been reading Kass' articles for a couple of months now.

Kass: Why the Bears Are Wrong

Kass made an incredible call around the end of February. Whether or not it was a fluke remains to be seen. I am optimistic though.

Larget Canadian energy company - merger announced today

Obviously the cost of a barrel of oil to the USA is the same anywhere (excluding transportation costs). But don't you think the USA would rather give Canada billions of dollars in oil revenue as opposed to the Middle East? I don't think any negative environmental impacts the Canadian oil sands...

Larget Canadian energy company - merger announced today

The company is definitely a much larger player on the international scene now; projects all over the world not just in the Alberta oil sands. I'm not too worried about Obama's comments regarding dirty oil sands oil. It makes no economic sense for the USA to curb oil imports from the oil...
