construction and use of adaptive averages

i have found that dual EMA, one short term and one long term, such as 5/30, works much better than any one "custom MA" such as KAMA, Jurik, etc. in the end, a trend following system will never pick absolute tops or bottoms, no matter how customized or enhanced the MA is. see ya

    Price and Time

you cannot predict the non existant future. the only thing that exists is now, and the past. I have physical evidence of now, as I just drank a glass of water and it is refreshing to me. I have physical evidence of the past, my dirty laundry piled up in my laundry hamper. However, I...

    Moving Average Crossover

I prefer to use dual EMA crossover however it is best to identify overall trend and not necessarily as entry signal per se. Note that 50-day and 200-day is heavily watched on Wall Street, so one thing I like to do is scan for stocks bearishly breaking the 50-day, and if the sector they belong...

    Futures questions from Beginner

Hello I have about 7 years experience trading stocks and am trying to learn more about futures. Please be patient with my question(s). Note I am using Lind-Waldock simulator to learn. I have observed that Soybeans respond well to a 10/20 dual EMA cross method, at least this past year...

Buy flat base breakouts in a bear market ?

I have read mostly "no" to this question, mainly from the O'Neil / Granville / Weinstein / etc, school of thought. My question is, in a bear market (which is coming, just a matter of time), if I come across another MAGS or IPIX, should I automatically avoid it or consider it? Note: MAGS...

    Weinstein - Where is he?

Just finished reading Justin Hamis "How to Buy" which I ordered on Amazon. Nothing like classic trading books to keep you sharp. In it he mentioned Stan Weinstein, another author who I have read many times. Where is Weinstein today? Is he still trading? just curious

    Abix

low low shares outstanding (1.7 million) combined with huge volume and volatile trading action maybe "the authorities" are trying to enforce a stable market who knows my guess, which is probably completely wrong
