update to the above... hottrend hasn't worked on RT the past 2 1/2 days (since friday, noon). yes, RT knows about it. a 'new' service will be implemented later this summer, but it's going to be an add-on, additional cost... anything that can produce a list of several hundred stocks...

it was reco'd but it was a terrible stock to short on cramer's buy. i do that sometimes, and didn't even get a whiff of "it MIGHT set up for a short" other than his initial say-so. (edit: obviously, it went down in the afternoon. the risk/reward wasn't there for a good setup, however).

NY - i've gotten filled on stocks where the price is shaved (lots of times) on stocks over a buck. whether or not it SHOULD happen is another story. but it definitely does happen, and i've seen it on time and sales a ton.

i don't know the actual reason for it. however, it happens on lots of cheapies, and i've found: -> some brokerages allow tenths of a penny on sub-$1 stocks ONLY. -> some brokerages don't allow tenths at *all*. it's pretty irritating to have a bid out there on a flat number, and watch...

i'd have expected this more on june 30 than may 30 (29).

there's been certain ECNs which haven't been counted, and certain ones which were double counted. i emailed about this a while ago with screenshots, couldn't get it resolved.

if you bring up a stock in TWS, on the right hand side of my setup is GREEN=shortable, RED=usually no way in hell (ie. reg SHO), faded/fuzzy = maybe, but usually not right now or less than 1000 shares. if i click on a fuzzy one, attempt to short it (way above the offer) and it comes back...

1fly - i've faded cramer and made money off him. i've stated the one way that's general enough that i won't lose my edge; there's a couple other cramer fades which i'm not disclosing, since it would get too crowded. it's not the main trading methodology i use, but provides some snack money...

is macke a good fade? i don't watch the show, but would like to know it... for example, cramer is (only) a good fade when he's switching a long-term position, finally jumping aboard a long-term trend and proclaiming himself a genius for finding it, or when he's absolutely filled with emotion...
