are you don harrold? btw i do somewhat agree with the thread starter. we capitulated thursday, so the edge is to the bulls. Historic oversold levels by mcclellan. Probable we bounce some. Bought some nice cheap SPY calls fridays open that rose 40% in one day.

You only have 5k right.. well the two things you need to worry about is - options ITM by 0,01 or more get asigned automatic by expiration -options buy and sell in one day counts at daytrade. You cant make more then 4 daytrades in a span of 5 trading days or you get the 90 days freeze.

sell puts you can make 10% a year or buy dividend stocks on the cheap. only downside is you dont get the upside of stocks.

thanks for letting me know. I already have seen several bloggers pointing out bullish signals, and that we go to dow 12k this summer. This bet confirms that, but since this is based on technology I guess the better thinks technology will outperform.

why are you talking about volume, im talking about liquidity. volume is liquidity but not all liquidity is volume. the bid and ask is also liquidity. and thats exactly what disappeared because a few HFT decided to shut them off. If you want to know what edges HFT have over the average trader...

I think you should do some research yourself. The firm that shut down computer is Tradebot, who an earlier poster said made money every day for 4 years. Also Tradebot itself claims to make up 5% of liquidity on USmarkets. So when they shut off, suddenly 5% liquidity disappeared, just like that...

You guys seriously don´t get it. HFT gets all the benefits of being a market maker, but not the disadvantages. This is illustrated by the fact they turned their machines off when the going got tough. Market makers arent supposed to do that. This is the same as socialism for the rich...
