    thank you IB

Don't know how you get a complimentary hat now - maybe people are selling them on eBay? http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53432&perpage=6&pagenumber=1 http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=846032

    thank you IB

It was really early on in IB's existence that I got that. How long have you been a customer? I opened an account with IB a few months after they started retail operations.

    thank you IB

I've been with IB almost since they started their retail operations. In that time, IB has saved me thousands of dollars in commissions, has always been fair to me on disputes, has offered an API which allowed me to customize my trading platform to enhance my trading results, and has given me...

    Cramer Supeonaed In Gradiant Probe

If you've ever watched him before you would know that he can say he likes a stock one day and then the next day change his mind. Your arguments are just so weak man. You obviously have an agenda here, why don't you tell us who you work for and how much you are getting paid to post this garbage.

What 's the cost for an Hidden order?

I know I am not the original poster, but I hide orders when there are obviously computer programs trying to penny the best bid/ask. If you show your order, you just trigger more pennying.

How do you know this was naked shorting?

What 's the cost for an Hidden order?

Sorry to hear that. I know IB wants to control the routing of orders, but I do find the API surcharge to be high. It is also frustrating that I have had times where SMART routing seemingly doesn't work properly so I feel that the extra surcharge is sometimes not fair given the performance of...

What 's the cost for an Hidden order?

Yes, all my orders are manual orders. I choose ISLAND and click the hidden box. If you set up these orders manually, there is no extra charge. However, if you send the orders through the API (the Excel link would be considered part of the API), then you will be charged extra.

    Schedule D problem in TurboTAX

It would be nice to know if this is just a hard limit in TurboTax or if it is a hard limit for e-filing as well. Irritating limitations like this in TurboTax (plus its decision that one year to have that screwed up installation) made me switch to TaxCut. TaxCut has its own quirks, but I have...

On the surface, the lawsuit doesn't appear to be about naked shorting. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/060222/biovail_lawsuit.html Furthermore, a company that spends its time pursuing lawsuits over its stock price is a company I don't want to be invested in. Sounds like a good short to me.

    IB extra zeros

When you bring up ARCA data lines or NYSE data lines, it is 2 decimals, but SMRT is 4 due to ISLD. Please make everything 2 again - annoying!

How do market makers make money on opening and closing crosses if there is no spread?

Nasdaq is different than NYSE. I am not sure of the stats, but I don't believe a lot of volume goes off on the opening/closing crosses of Nasdaq stocks compared to listed stocks. Has anyone had good experiences with MOO and MOC orders on Nasdaq? The specialist gets to see all of the MOC...

How do market makers make money on opening and closing crosses if there is no spread?

My guess would be that they can assign the MOC price to be artificially low (and participate on the buy side) and then flip the shares on the open (MOO) the next morning for a profit.

Again, if the company in question was any good (i.e., made money), then there is little chance the stock goes to zero. If the company in question was making money hand over fist, then there would be plenty of investors willing to buy its shares. With all of your posts, you seem to ignore the...

What 's the cost for an Hidden order?

I have done thousands of hidden orders through IB and the commission I was charged was the same as if I had routed through SMART. I have noticed that sometimes the way commissions are calculated in the TWS in realtime are not always accurate. Check your daily statement tomorrow - it is the...
