    Swing Trading >> Daytrading

The OP topic is questioning rather swing trading is better than day trading, not a question if leverage should be used or not, nor are we discussing the typical pitfalls of amateur traders who can't use leverage effectively.

    Swing Trading >> Daytrading

I use them both separately and together. Not all day trading is the same, there are hundreds of different strategies out there. Day trading can provide better returns due to higher intraday leverage. There are days that provide returns better than what the market returns on average for a single...

Who wants to do an IPO with me at $0.01 then file bankruptcy a day later and sell our stonks to robinoobs for whatever they want? $1 is probably fair. Company will be called Derptz.

    Tips for selling puts?

"When you say 6-12 months, I take that as after that amount of practice I should achieve my goal, and not a reference to a contract's expiration, yes?" - correct.

    Tips for selling puts?

100% agree with the wheel. I personally like selling puts after the second consecutive down day and continue to write puts if it continues and during the rebound. I wait until the stock rebounds above acb to write a call. Regardless of the security I typically write slightly OTM. Do not...

Wearing protective face coverings, most important for economy ?

One sick person on transit can infect 100's of people just in one day. Not even counting the people that can be infected at an office or restaurant. Most people I know get sick once a year, rarely the flu but the common cold sure. Most of us use transit (friends in 20s, 30s, work in office where...

Is the Nasdaq blowing higher than the fundamentals ?

Historically and fundamentally, no. Q's net eps was down about 70% for a year in 2017 and was up almost 20%. p/e is 28 now. if p/e reaches 35 then I may agree.

    Question about Short Straddles

Morning, sorry, i should have added "atm" after short straddle above. The point of a short straddle atm/itm is getting the highest premium in relation to the underlying price. You are writing a call and put with the SAME strike price. I think the only way of not getting called on the option, on...

    Question about Short Straddles

Regardless of symbol, the reason why you are wanting a short straddle itm is for the highest premium possible on both ends. Fair to consider this strategy however you should consider that it is likely that one or both ends will get executed by another party. Although volatility is priced in and...

    I'm back in, tomorrow

Apple could be worth a pair trade for that reason but may be tough with your low buying power. Everyone who trades should learn options.

Watch AMZN, FB, AAPL if QQQ falls over the next few weeks. Under normal consolidating I believe these three stocks should hold up. Slowly buy some options a few weeks or a month out after consolidation to try to get more alpha. Best of luck.

How does one sort out losers and trolls?

I'm nowhere near the first person to offer this but I think it's required at this point to stay relevant and offer more than just leverage and low commissions. I'm unsure what you mean by your question but I'm assuming you are asking how can a client trust that a programmer wont steal a clients...

    Am I fooling the algo's?

Yes it's entirely probable (100s of conditions out there), just be careful in the future because you may get filled on the bid next time ;)

How does one sort out losers and trolls?

From an institutional setting no, I have not, but I have friends who do who work 50 hour weeks on the west m-f and are working constantly. You're from NYC, I'd imagine they work longer hours there and don't have the free time to read and post on forums during market hours...
