1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Yes, reuters seems to be censored. There are no critical comments published to this article at all. Weird. Who is behind this?

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

An article advocating "Robin Hood Tax" on Reuters today. http://blogs.reuters.com/reuters-money/2011/07/29/its-time-for-banks-to-pay-back-their-debt-to-the-rest-of-us/

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I think this is one of the best arguments against it. But in order to be understandable for non-trading "normal" people, it would be very important to show some exact calculations to prove how an FTT would kill the business. Non-traders do not even know what leverage and margin mean, let...

    why can't i stop after 3 losers?

I have just seen this thread, and it seems to be about the same problem I responded to at another forum. I don't know if the forum rules allow to post links to other forums, if not, please delete my post. I am just too lazy to write everything anew. Otherwise, maybe the OP or someone else...

Heaven is a fairy tale, says physicist Hawking

One should emphasize though that everything mentioned in this thread as "religion" refers exclusively to the religions originating from Judaism. In all kinds of these religions, including Christianity and Islam, the existence of a creator god and of creation is a dogma, an unchangeable...

Heaven is a fairy tale, says physicist Hawking

Why do you think that actually a pin is needed in order to dance above it? Hawking told in one of those videos included in this thread, that the universe is capable of spontaneously creating itself... So a non-existent something is capable to bring itself into existence

Heaven is a fairy tale, says physicist Hawking

The fact that the universe is fine tuned does not mean by any means that there must be a "tuner" as you say. It simply means that the underlying structure of the universe is uncomparibly much better at sef'-regulating than the so-called "free market" :D

Heaven is a fairy tale, says physicist Hawking

This sounds nice, but why should one be afraid of the dark, when the one who should percieve the dark does not exist any more? :( And by the way, what is time? And if there is a god, why should he be a creator? And why should not he be a she? And if there is one god, why...

Ban Tea and Coffee for More Important Foods

Tea (especially green tea) and and even coffee are actually very good for human health. One could gain much more land for human food production by banning the use of animals for food. 70% of all cereals produced on earth are used as animal fodder, and not as food for humans. 30 times more...

If Obama leads/leaders USA into Word War 3

What a stupid "Blitzkrieg" argument. Hopefully US military leaders and politicians are not THAT stupid .. You could be more than surprised how advanced Russian rocket technology, air defence and airforce are.

"Price Action Only" traders - More likely to be successful?

I personally do not believe that such a thing as "noise" (labelling "useless" or "uninterpretable" "random" price movements) exists at all. I consider what many call "noise", to be actually a very precious information. But I agree that "information" can also mean very different things to...

"Price Action Only" traders - More likely to be successful?

While it is very easy to distinguish between FA on one side, and TA and PA on the other, it is really difficult, if not impossible to distinguish between the latter 2. For the sake of clarity let's assume that both pure TA and PA traders do not care for fundamentals at all. If they, do, they...

    Day trading difficulties

Really sorry for your personal experience. But I guess there is no other need in trying to make said personal experience into a universal truth, than trying to justify for yourself what you express through your own forum name. Understandable, but not really a reliable opinion.

New EU regulations on herbal medicines come into force

This is serious, organized crime. The newest example of state terrorism. The next stage will be banning yoga and other types of excercise based health improving systems. Or at least banning the description how they work and what they are good for. After all, there are many causing damage...
