Ron Paul Warns of Violence from Pending Dollar Crisis

We are in a policy bind, yes, but don't keep your outlook of potential to be within the box. The US already has the factors of production to be the saudi arabia of energy production (look to breeder nuke technology, or less head-in-the-clouds shale nat gas & algae oil production), and has...

    Tape today...wow

I'm just saying how about some context ... 10% moves last year is high volatility. This is slightly elevated in comparison, even today's 2%.

    Tape today...wow

Volatility? Pardon me, but the S&P futs moved from 1060 to 1042 for the entire day range. And the bulk of that before the actual open. A little over a 1% move. That is muted volatility. There are no extremes here.

    The Keynesians Were Wrong Again

You're out of touch, and all of your posts are dominated by your bias. Even if real unemployment numbers are closer to 20%, that means 80% still have jobs. On top of the falling demand for consumer credit, there is massive debt repayment ongoing. Another year or two of that and you have...

    4 Billion $ for gold

I know last time around Barrick capitulating on hedges was a death knell for gold. But let's look at the nearer term.. 4 billion dollars to buy back outright gold hedges is 40000 100oz contracts of GC at $1000/oz. That will be additional demand onto the market. I have a hard time...

Why can't I get a job? Recent Grad, 3.7 GPA, Good Exp, Year and a half of searching..

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but you should start doing a CFA while you are on your own. It will keep you sharp and by the time you are done with all three parts, you will have differentiated yourself in being able to complete it. Maybe more useful than an MBA (which is a social...

    Nat Spreads

Why do I think part of this move up is a response to the CFTC COT report showing more detail as to the holders? 'Managed Money' is lopsided short vs the rest of the market. http://www.cftc.gov/dea/futures/energy_lf.htm

    Government Stock Buying Operations?

I'll say that I don't believe a US PPT exists, mainly because the S&P shaved 900 points from peak to trough this cycle. I think the bid dynamic that often seems like a PPT is in actuality the generally steady flow of a percentage of all retirement savings going into the market (401k...

Shipping Rates Seen Falling 50% as China Cuts Commodity Imports

Interesting how copper imports fell 20%+ but the price kept ascending... Is it all funds doing it? Or is it resurgent demand from other economies? Time will tell. China's not the only player in the game.

If Dollar goes to hell, and that's a big if,

To retain wealth, you need to merely hold real tangible assets that better yet yield some sort of rent. To 'get rich' if you aren't already, then you need leverage and perfect timing. Something like most of your net worth in deep out of the money calls in all the standard things to be...

IB - Cant get quotes on Treasuries with up to 5 maturities

I'd ask IB.. Their dealer quote system is often screwed up and/or absent on days entirely. But most of their 2014-2019 inventory has no quote right as we speak, so that corroborates what you are likely saying.
