Intel chips are cooler than AMDs and people seem to run those okay. I'm pretty sure there a viable ways to physically cool off a P4 if you're worried.

If I'm connecting a single computer to my DSL account, then a router's only function would be to mask my IP, correct? I mean there would be no performance difference between going through the router and connecting my single pc directly to the DSL modem. Correct?
