new option cancel fees for IB

While we generally agree, swing traders don't like to get screwed on price either. If an option is selling for a lower price on another exchange I should be able to cancel my order and get the better price elsewhere w/o having to pay an extra fee just beacuse my order first routed to a crappy...

new option cancel fees for IB

Most options are not really a day trading instruments anyway b/c of the bid/ask spread and commissions. SSF's are not traded around the clock. The ES is not an SSF, so why mention it? And have you looked at the b/a spread and liqidity in the overnight? They suck. And do you really expect...

new option cancel fees for IB

I've never had a margin call when holding a call or put. And I've never been whacked by some astronomical and unpredictable amount when long options over night. I'm sure you know this too, but for some reason you care not to mention them. Why?

    Problems with McMillan's Method

I've read that Larry's own fund makes maybe 20 something %. That's good, but not great and he's the master. I don't really believe that using higher math is going to get you too much more in the options market for swing or LT trading. I think the key to making money in the options market in...

    Optionetics

True, but Optionetics, while teaching some useful things, is in my opinion misleading and unethical. If you want to give these guys your $$ fine. You will learn something. It will be overpriced, you will see a bunch of people sitting around you who don't have a prayer at becoming successful...

    I agree with this COMPLETELY.

    Optionetics

I'm sorry but I have been a pretty big critic of Optionetics here but your statement is wrong. It WILL shorten someone's learning curve. It's just a very expensive way to do it and whoever attends is exposed to even more sales pitches for even more products for even more misleading products...

    Optionetics

Sure, paying for live training can be worth it. A lot of it depends on how much money you're willing to spend. But I believe Optionetics is misleading, over priced and unethical. Yet they do teach something.

    Optionetics

Since you understand option trading, you must realize how hard it would be for a first time option trader to identify six round turn spreads a month. And Optionetics never says the six trades a month have to be ROUND TURN SPREAD trades until someone tries to actually collect. That's too late.

    Optionetics

Here's Optionetic's "guarantee." You have to do 36 ROUND TURN SPREAD trades over 6 months. Assuming the minimum of 2 legs per spread and that you trade out before expiration, that's 24 actual trades a month, 144 trades over the 6 month period. Futhermore, EACH trade has to be documented on an...

2nd hard drive for back up

A USB external drive is not bootable because USB needs Windows to be running to work. I don't know about FireWire, but I doubt it. If your BIOS doesn't recognize the device at startup, you can't boot off it.

    1 dead pixel

I have two LCD monitors. One was sold at a deep discount 7 years ago and has three bad pixels. 7 years late it still has only three bad pixels. However, the new one has no bad pixels. New LCD monitors in this day and age should not have any bad pixels.

    What's Your Favorite Candlestick Pattern?

From my experience, yes a small tweek can make a big difference, so your recipe anaolgy is really not a great choice. I've heard another analogy about trading, which is it's like picking a lock: you have to get all the tumblers lined up and apply just the right amount of pressure versus sensory...

    Jack Hershey's Books

I AGREE that it's a VERY reasonable to ask Jack what books he wrote. (I just don't think it's reasonable the way some people so viciously complain about free advice.)

BTW, if you can work through some of Hull's pricing models, you are very good! I say go to the Optionetics intro. Even sign up for the seminar but LEAVE at noontime of the first day. You'll get your money back as long as you return all the materials. This way you'll have time to go over their...
