Citigroup announces 1-for-10 reverse stock split

Why was this thread moved to the stocks forum? It's more about trading than stocks since it'll have a profound effect on day traders, prop shops, even clearing firms.

Citigroup announces 1-for-10 reverse stock split

Good traders know how to adapt and make money in the even the toughest of times. In other words, they'll move on to other symbols. :p

Turning $27K into $1,000,000 in only 9 months...

Today I had what I believe is my best trading day ever in my 7 year career. I made over $71,000. It's worth mentioning that I made this money today with only a $115K account. I've been continually wiring out all of my profits on a daily basis, so the "End of Day Balance" figures you see do...

And I already responded to him. Again, I'm not here to prove anything, nor discuss my trading or edge. As for the car, I always find good deals on cars and can usually break even or even make money on them, even after driving them for a year. I wouldn't be buying it brand new.

Turning $27K into $1,000,000 in only 9 months...

The spreadsheet represents 14 trading days which is 3 weeks (including one holiday), not 2 weeks. Still, I'm going to try to make the million as quickly as possible. When I hit $500,000, I'm going to reward myself with a new Viper or Skyline GTR. When that happens, I'll be sure to post...

How about I just wire you some $$$? Come on man, you don't really expect me to divulge trade secrets do you? Maybe idiots in other journal threads will, but I certainly will not. I started this journal because it motivates me to do well by continually updating it at the end of each...

Turning $27K into $1,000,000 in only 9 months...

Extended my winning streak to 9 straight with a pretty stellar day. I gambled a little bit in the pre-market by shorting the financials and insisting that the huge move to the upside was exaggerated. I quickly covered on the open for a small profit. I then showed discipline and restraint by not...

Turning $27K into $1,000,000 in only 9 months...

I only trade equities. I only did about 1.4 million shares today. That's very light for me, but I'm trying to trade more efficiency in light of the massive SEC fee hike.

Turning $27K into $1,000,000 in only 9 months...

Had a pretty good day despite extremely anemic volume and an abornally low number of trades. Since the SEC fee on all sell side trades has now more than quadrupled, I'm adjusting my trading habits and strategies accordingly.

So the SEC fee basically tripled today?

That's nothing... My SEC fee for today "should" have been $127.39. However, since the fee has now more than quadrupled, it was $584.62. Today was an extraordinary day for me in terms of volume, so I don't think I'll be losing $450+ a day on average. But I do think it'll be $200-$300. That's...

So the SEC fee basically tripled today?

Oh shit, could it go by settle date? T + 3? If so, then I guess the new rate could be effective today since today's trades won't settle until the 13th...

So the SEC fee basically tripled today?

I noticed the same thing after looking over today's trades. However, I believe the clearing firms have jumped the gun by three days. The new SEC rate is not supposed to take effect until April 10th: http://www.finra.org/web/groups/industry/@ip/@reg/@notice/documents/notices/p118154.pdf...
