    Where would you trade?

I heard somewhere like Geneva would be nice. I think the main considerations here are: 1. Tradeability: stability, speed, reliability, cost of internet. 2. Liveability: Quality of life and standard of living. whats there to do in your free time? bars, cafes, restaurants, nightlife, beaches...

Scanner that allows screening based on nbr. of trades, not nbr. of shares

Yes. IB has one. You can screen by trade rate which is number of trades per minute. Pretty helpful to see which stocks are really ticking over.

    The Gap Fading system

Hi. Just an update. This thread will not continue. The purpose of it was actually to create a track record so I could trade the strategy at a prop firm. I've decided that I no longer want to trade prop, and instead will continue to trade my own account with IBs leverage. However...

    Japanese stocks list/info in English

Hi guys. Can somebody please explain the main differences between the Tokyo Exchange and the US exchanges in terms of the way they work? For starters, the Japs it seems have a lunch break between 11am-12:30pm. Is there a closing auction at 11am and then an opening auction at 12:30pm? Or...

When do you start moving the price?

Hi. Thanks for your response. 1. I would use limit-on-open orders; so should execute right at the open. 2. See 1. 3. What is a "larger" order ? 4. Yes of course thats why I said high volume/liquidity stocks. For example, say, I was trading LINTA and there was about $5million worth of...

    Opening Orders - 2009

My research shows much the same. There are actually about a further 30-40 large cap stocks that have a 60-70% hit rate which is not as impressive but still worth trading because they either have (i) significant trade frequency and/or (ii) a fat payoff ratio. Though of course with these...

When do you start moving the price?

If you are talking big cap stocks, say those that trade $100mil+ per day, and you generally buy on the open, at what stage will your order start influencing the opening price ? Say if this stock has $100mil money flow per day average, and does about $5million on the open. If your order is...

    IB order

Thanks Jack. No need to try it out for me. As long as I know it can be done then thats cool. Also, I havent actually traded US stocks via IB before. It says on the homepage that the commission is $0.005/share or less. Does anyone know exactly after what point does it become "less" ...
