    Ending the Deficit

I just love how everyone who can at least see there is a problem with the current system continues to want to use a system that the government can manipulate at will. Imagine being a slave and fighting for a different slave owner instead of real freedom.

    Ending the Deficit

I'm of course talking about bitcoin. On bitcoin standard, we will see that deflation is not to be feared, and that there is no need for fractional reserve banking. The world works how it does currently because its designed to steal from the citizens. So this system needs to be turned upside...

    Index futures automation

I'm confused by what you said. You said averaging in isn't for you, but then say markets are mean reverting. Then you say that when you lose you take the max loss, but then when you get the right spot, you have a small position (as if to complain about small wins). Did you mean to say that...

    Ending the Deficit

Although you're not wrong with what you describe, it also doesn't have to be like this. There is a totally different way to run an economy and a monetary system. It doesn't have to be fractional reserve, or always require debt, and it doesn't have to require growth at all costs.

    Ending the Deficit

Its true that in 2008, there was no bitcoin yet, so there would be nothing else to go to. In some ways though, this just blew up the bubble bigger, so when the crash happens, it will be even worse. The only saving grace will be if enough people accumulate bitcoin and so many won't suffer a...

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

I agree fully, and hence why all the current scaling solutions they want on Bitcoin don't make too much sense. Why does everyone need their own UTXO?? Most just need the value that Bitcoin brings. Bitcoin forces the system to be fair.

    Ending the Deficit

He just means that because US can print as much money as needed, it will never default, and hence the debt doesn't mean anything. But when the rest of the world wakes up and realizes the game is rigged, why would they want to play your game? It's like an unhappy husband. He spends years...

    Swing Trading QQQ

Although I do agree about having to just follow the market, there are two problems. One is a major event, like when gold standard was removed in 1973, or when Cypress banks closed due to the financial crisis there, or when the Swiss currency I think it was, which was allowed to de-peg which...

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

People are trying to figure out how to do scaling on the main chain. Look at how Peter from WBD has been trying to figure out how lightning scales when you need at least 1 on-chain transaction. This mean evening Lightning has scaling issues, especially if you want it to be non-custodial. The...

    AI Leading the Way

I wonder what would happen if you fed it thousands of 1 minute OHLC bar data and ask it to predict the next 10 bars. :D

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

Maybe not exactly fighting, but disagreement about how bitcoin should scale. There are several different versions of Covenants, and so each of the different devs wants the changes implemented in their way. I hardly know enough to even be able to summarize them of have my own opinion about...

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

I'm honestly a bit scared about some of the scaling proposals. I know there is lots of fighting right now, and it seems like the code needs to change only ever so slightly. But just one new opcode or whatever can mean major exploitation down the road. As you know, I consider it a big bug to...

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

So the second part is a bit more worrisome to me and this deals with fractional reserve banking. I do fully believe that bitcoin will become a bit centralized in that most people won't be interacting with the base layer, but via Layer 2 and some sort of custodian. I'm ok with this. I can see...

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

In order to answer this question, you have to understand what it means to be hijacked. Since its decentralized, nobody really has control over it. Anyone can make any change to the protocol, but if your change causes a hard fork, everyone has to agree to use it, and if they don't, then your...

Bitcoin’s 'Existential' Challenge: From Freedom to Fragmentation

My take, and I'm by no means an expert on this given that its getting highly technical, is that if there is a split, the only decision you have to make is which fork to follow. John of course can give us first hand experience of what happened the last time, but the smart ones stayed with the...

Actual data supporting no use of stop losses

Although I agree that a method needs to suit the emotional and mental makeup of the trader, isn't Cohen only successful because of insider trading? If his entire wealth rests of access to information, then shouldn't his "teachings" carry no weight?

    Index futures automation

I understand the frustration. Is it possible to open a second account, move half the money, and trade 1 contract in each account under 2 different sets of rules? 3 months is a long time to verify the validity of a setup, and it would suck to learn that just that one small change could help...

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Actually, you're right. Thinking back to all the questions and answers and wasted time, and yet he still comes back with "but how do I value bitcoin" LOL... It just made me think. How does one even value a house? You can look at past transactions, but at the end of the day, the house is...

Actual data supporting no use of stop losses

Out of curiosity, how is this quantifiable in terms of being helpful? I'm not sure where you stand on the whole Price Action/TA trading, but many here think its useless. But when you try and figure out why a stock dropped in price, couldn't there be a million reasons, and how would finding...

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Clubber is a name I haven't come across in the longest time... totally forgot about that alias. As for how I keep score... I think Schizo is the most genuine, but he is a trader at heart, and its working for him, so trading bitcoin is just what he does. Deaddog doesn't mean harm I don't think...
